Where Do You Store Their Clothes? So, Chad and I are in the process of creating something for Zeus' clothes. He's only been with us for a month and he already has more clothes than Daddy and I combined  At this time, we were using a shoe/"box" storage hanging contraption in our closet. It's provides multiple horizontal surfaces and I thought "Great! We have plenty of space!" Yeah...nope. So what do you use for their clothing storage? Pictures are awesome... :D |
3 Attachment(s) I took generic bookcases and removed the shelving. I cut dowel rods down to size to use for rods in two of them and I used tension rods in one of them..I used shorter bookcases and they fit under the lowest rod of my hanging clothes. I used a taller bookcase for one of Jada's closets, because I had it and was going to toss it:p It worked out well for me. I also picked up a couple of storage boxes at the Dollar Tree for everyday t-shirts.Attachment 362630 Attachment 362631 Attachment 362632 |
4 Attachment(s) I refinished a pine cabinet with black paint, new handles and tension rods. |
oh, my you guys are amazing, I just showed this to my husband to see if he would make me one, he said yeah when I finish the basement, and since that has been a two year process and not even half done LOL I will not hold my breath, I stacked some small plastic storage tubs on the shelves in my laundry room closet and lay everything in those. One piece of advice, if your are laying them like that, be sure to close up all the velcro straps. If you don't they can easily snag and pill another garment. Sometimes for the better stuff I will put them in individual plastic ziplock bags for safe keeping. |
I use a baby armoire that has the two doors that open in the front then in there is a shelf, then the rod under that, then below the doors is two drawers. I love it and its probably the nicest piece of furniture in my room lol |
I'm so impressed by all the clothing that your babies have...As of now Prissy's is in a big hatbox. Yoshi's is in a drawer and he doesn't have very many since he doesn't wear them anymore. I am working on building Prissy's clothes, it does take time and money. She is in xsmall dresses and xxsmall tanks... |
Ginger has one of those plastic drawer systems on wheels. She has a few clothes even though she won't wear them. It's handy for keeping extra collars, harnesses, leashes, brushes, combs, etc. All of her stuff (except toys) is in there including her heart/flea meds. I keep it in my "study" - aka - the crafting room. If she wore clothes and had alot, I would have to do something else. |
1 Attachment(s) Wow! What cute spaces you all have created! I painted an old cabinet that was a gift from my MIL. It belonged to my husband's grandmother. This is in her doggy condo in our house. Right now we only use the top shelf for clothing storage but I think we are about to convert the shelf under the top one too. It is amazing how fast we have aquired clothes! LOL. We too just use a tension rod in the cabinet. I save any plastic puppy hangers we get when I buy things. I know you can order special hangers too. Here is a pic of it before we brought KS home so there are no clothes in it yet, but you can visualize a top shelf full. LOL  |
i bought tons of pink baby hangers and hang them up in a spare room closet rod, love the armoire idea though |
Levi has a plain, tall dresser. All of his clothes are folded nicely away inside. I love the doggie armoires that some members have made -- they are awesome! |
I also use one of the shoe hanging things on the back of a door. It has 24 slots and each will hold 2-3 outfits depending on the thickness of the outfit. It works great for us but we don't have too many outfits just yet! |
Love all the cabinets. Unfortunately I do not have a spot for anything like that. :( I have plastic container that you can wheel around and have that in my guest bedroom. I keep what we use most of time (right now, sweaters and coats) in a basket by the sofa. |
Wow! I love the cabinets...the creativity! We are off to a late start with clothes. It was hot here, so sweaters and hoodies were the first investments...but we didn't know they'd like being dressed up in clothes so much. We were told they didn't like clothes...but that's not what I see. I see them fighting to take the clothes away from us so we don't take them away, sticking their heads into the clothes to help put them on, and fighting to keep you from removing their clothes. lol We'll get there eventually probably. Thanks for sharing the photos! :) |
3 Attachment(s) I've had a few attempts at storage systems this past year, that didn't work well for me. Finally, I've got a system that works great :). I took an old oak bookcase, removed most of the shelves, and bought an oak closet rod & brackets, at Menards. I stained them to match the bookcase and then cut to size & put the rod in the bookcase. I then went shopping, armed with measurements, and bought baskets that fit the shelves wonderfully! I attached hooks to the side of the bookcase to hang leashes & harnesses on. I put potty pads in the bottom two baskets, bows, hair products, grooming supplies, life jacket, travel water bottles, folded blankets, and all that other miscellaneous stuff we collect for our pups, in the two rows of smaller baskets. In the baskets on top of the bookcase I stash all the extras & duplicates I buy for her (if I buy her a toy & it turns out to be really great and she loves it, I'll go buy a bunch more while I can!). I love having a place for everything! |
You did an asome job!!! Nali is sooo jealous. Next time you come over we are going to have to figure out a space somewhere so we can do the same for nali. Quote:
