Well , i don't know if this will help but i use kenic kalaya emu oil spray every time i groom oscar . This stuff is great. It conditions the hair and the skin... |
It is my understanding that yorkies have human-like hair, that being said, I know nothing can repair breakage or split ends on our hair, the only solution is to cut all the damage off, or cut up to the shortest break as mentioned previously. Start fresh, applying topical products doesn't help hair to grow faster*, good, healthy diets, rich in omega-3's does, but results may take up to 3-6 months. I have a friend that attempted to save money by coloring and highlighting her own hair, not only did she damage it, she told me the professional corrective coloring ended up costing her double what she would have paid to begin with.:( You mentioned, you now know what you have done wrong, maybe you should do more research before embarking on uncharted territory or seek professional help, especially on something that seems to be very important to you. Good luck and remember, its just hair...it will grow back :) *With the exception of minoxidil and copper peptides which are applied directly to the scalp, not hair. Neither of which are safe to use on dogs. |
What are you feeding her? Is it a quality food? |
I feed her Nature's Variety Instinct. But I'm thinking about trying Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy. |
I can't seem to get them on here. Its frustrating. I guess the ones that really want to see can give me your emails. And I can send them to you. |
Can you upload them to your photo album? We feed Nature's Variety Instinct too. I think it's great and Mr. Beasley agrees - lol. |
I feed Natures Variety to my silky gang too... hugs, |
Oatmeal & Aloe Vera Line This is the one I tried for Amara once that made her coat grow when she was younger. But She has a more modified coat. So I don't know how it will do. H20 Shampoo 16 oz(BACKORDER TILL FURTHER NOTICE) This is the new line. I think I want to try this one too. Amara has a very dry coat. Sometimes. Thanks for the responses everyone. |

I've been busting my rump all day today looking for repairing products. And shampoos to promote coat growth etc. 1. Plush Puppy SeaBreeze Oil. 2.Summerwinds Protect-A-Coat- Oil Conditioner. 3 Pet Silk Liquid Silk Serum 4 Pet Silk Coat Oil. 5 Spectrum Ten Hypropac Intensive Treatment. 6.Chris Christensen Silk Spirts. This is what I have on my list. I'm also investing in a Madan comb. I was going to try Chris Christensen but they didn't say which to use for my yorkies coat on the site. So I'm going with Madan. Madan has reccomendations for the coat types of Yorkies, Maltese and other breeds. And I'm investing in their combs. And if it comes to it. I will get my baby cut down. But you better believe I am in this for the long run and I am determined to get that long coat look. If its possible....... |

I hope you figure out how to fix your lil one's hair, or at least get it on the road to greatness. But thanks for starting this thread. I was wondering what type of shampoo and stuff to use on Darla. When I first got her I just bought the stuff from Walmart that had oatmeal in it, but now that is finishing up and would like to get her the good stuff to help her look great. =) |

Yeah! Any tips and advice to help raise my lil girl to be healthy and beautiful is always welcomed. I live in the middle of nowhere and was accepting the stuff they sell at Walmart for her, but after joining YT I've learned there is much more I can do to raise her correctly. Its all a learning process and I'm loving it. =) |
