Wall biting! Help! Sophia started biting the walls a few months back. I tried using bitter apple and another brand that does the same thing. It didn't help... but eventually she stopped. A few days ago, she started biting again! I'm putting baby gates up to block the parts of the walls that she's been trying to bite the most, but she'll just find other parts to bite. I don't know what to do  |
Is she a puppy? perhaps teething or in need of entertainment. I'd find a specific chew toy for her biting needs. |
She's 10 months. She has several chew toys that she LOVES... but the walls still her favorite. Sophia gets long walks every day and tons of play time! I thought she'd be too plum tuckered to chew on walls! |
Kayla did that a couple of times. Once, right above the bed and the other in the hall. Then, it just seemed to pass as fast as she started. Maybe she will get tired of it hopefully. After we fixed the places she chewed she didn't bother them anymore. |
If the walls are gypsum wall board, I'd make sure she was getting enough calcium...maybe give her organic cottage cheese or organic yogurt as a treat a couple times a day or add it to her food. If she's just found a new hobby, you can try making a tea of cayenne powder and hot water and spray it on the areas where she is chewing. Test, first, for staining, and make sure she is not as crazy for cayenne as I am before you bother with it, though. Of course, she may just switch to licking the walls if she is! :D |
I think all mine did that. its aweful! but make sure you have lots of chew toys on hand Nyla bones are a fav for mine and kongs will help keep them busy |
Get her a chew stick that will keep her busy for awhile like bully sticks |
