Bathing, and Grooming I was wondering how often people bathe their yorkies? What kind of shampoo/conditioner you use? My yorkie always seems to have dry hair. And my silkypoo always seems to get mattes. What types of combs/brushes do you use? Thanks! :) |
Bubbles gets a bath every sunday evening. I use Biogroom, buddy wash as well as Minksheen (summer time). I alternate to get a different smell. Best to use a good dog shampoo and not human shampoos. I know a lot of folks have said they use baby shampoo. |
Ours get bathe once every 7-10 days. I would invest in quality grooming tools, like a Madden or CC brush. Also, purchase a good leave in conditioner or make one yourself. There are many threads here on this topic, feel free to do a search under grooming in the forums. I've learned so much there. Hope that helps. |
I bathe Nala weekly with Yorkie Splash & Shine.... and she smells sooo good! :D She gets her face and furrybutt washed more often. :rolleyes: I use the pink Madden pin brush on her and it works very well. |
I bathe my babies once a week unless they get into something...We use Tresame. We also use leave in conditoner by Johnson every few days if needed. |

I really like Harry Barker Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner... Have used Yorkie Splash and Shine and like it too. I bathe Tillie and Bella every two weeks or so... depending on the weather... more often during summer of course ;) You may want to search Shampoo in the box at the very bottom of the page (be sure to click YorkieTalk.com) as there a number threads with recommendations. |
