Sad and getting disappointed... My yorkie Missy passed away recently. It has been hard to talk about it, as it was completely unexpected. My husband and I were interested in getting a sister for her, so now that she is goine, we want to go ahead and get another baby. My problem is that we live in Alaska right now, and there seem to be no yorkies to be found! I can't seem to find any reputable breeders here so I have to rely on someone shipping me one. I have never purchased a puppy from a website before, so I am leary, although I have read all about the things to look for in a good breeder. Does anyone have any ideas to send my way? Maybe one of you knows someone here who has puppies available. Thanks ahead of time, we truly appreciate it! |
I am very sorry for your loss of Missy. I do not have any breeder recommendations to share with you, but I would suggest either committing to flying and meeting the breeder at the airport in the state the breeder resides. Or, arranging for a human transport to Alaska. Good breeders will work with you to do this. I wish you the best in your search. |
I'm so sorry about your loss. You might want to contact our Alaskan resident, Mike. He might have some ideas for you. His user name is Alaskanyorkie.. Good luck! |

I am so sorry about Missy!!!! I empathize with you, my yorkie was stolen from me years ago. I live in Texas but got my baby from a member of YT and breeder from Michigan. You can find her here under user name breny. I'm so glad I did, strudel is not only cute and adorable, but well behaved, calm and submissive. I was equally as impressed with Breny and she has her pups hand delivered to you by plane if needed. I'm sure there are other wonderful breeders that members can suggest but I can only speak from what I've experienced :) I hope you are able to find another baby to love soon :) |
I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be so difficult not to be able to go out and find another furbaby. Please don't buy from an online ad. They are puppy mills and you don't want to get messed up with that kind of heartbreak. Keep looking for referrals and recommendations. There are at least four clubs in Alaska that you may want to contact and ask if they know of any breeders of Yorkies in the state that they would recommend.
