iwebkat | 01-31-2012 07:25 AM | HELP! Shredding pee pads Hopefully someone else can help me with this. My Tera just turned 1 year old two weeks ago. We added a new yorkie to the mix in December (just before Christmas). They are getting along so well for the most part. Our new yorkie, Koda, is doing great on the potty training for the most part. We installed a new doggie door, and he is used to it, so he will take off running, fly through the doggie door, and do his business. He is so funny because he is fearless, and even though he is small (2.5#), he is a rough and tumble boy. (He just turned 4 months)
So, when we are at work, we have them in an x-pen inside the house, and of course I peek in on them several times a day as I have a camera pointing at them. For the first month we had Koda, they did their business on the pee pad just fine. The past week though, they have been shredding the pee pads. HELP! I caught Koda tearing them up once, and my husband caught her. (On camera of course, not in person.)
I bought a pee pad holder hoping that would help. They tear the pee pad off the holder and still shred it. I removed the holder, they still tear it up. I am at my wit's end here. We thought about separating them in separate x-pens to see what happens, but they really love being together. We really leave them too long to crate them.
I just want to rewind to a couple of weeks ago when they didn't shred their pads and everything worked well. Does anyone have any suggestions?? |
