I had heart failure at the vet!! Took Marley for his last set of shots today and we were so excited because we can start taking him out more. However, when they first weighed him they said he lost a pound. WHAT!? I was so worried. I couldn't believe it. I looked at the tech and asked if this was normal for puppies, knowing it wasn't. She said no. I asked if she was absolutely sure and maybe she should weigh again. She started asking questions like has he been eating? (yep) 3 times a day? (yep) vomiting? (nope) active? (yep). Then she said lets wait to speak to the vet. So we waited and the whole time my DH and I was thinking something isn't right, he looks bigger and acts fine. Very worried. Vet comes in and says he looks good but lets try another set of scales....sure enough the non digital scales were accurate at 4.9 pounds. So he gained a pound since last visit. I noticed the tech never came back in but another one in her place while the vet was with us and assisting with shots. Hope she didn't get in trouble but my goodness that was scary for a new dog owner. On another note, they were extremely impressed at how trained he was. He would sit for their treats before being asked and came when we called him. They were also impressed with the snoozer harness and that we have an actual car seat. I live in a small town.:) |
Oh my goodness!!!! Wow, what a scare!:confused: I guess the upside is that you won't need to change batteries in ye ol' pacemaker for a while, eh?...that jolt shoulda charged 'em right up! :D Hope you never have to go through that again. So glad it was a bad scale and everything is fine. I think if he'd lost a pound, you might have noticed...:p:D |
Oh that would scare me to!! Speciallly in these lil ones, 1 pound may not be a lot to a bigger furbaby, but for these lil ones, that's A LOT!! Glad it was only the scales that were wrong. |
I usually just "cringe" as I sit there and hear those statements, like for... Sneakers, as the visits passed it was like 10 lbs, then 11 lbs, then 12 lbs and for... Becca, it was 5 lbs, then 6 lbs then 7 lbs... I'm hoping for my guys to level off at some point ! |
I'm so glad everything turned out so well in the end. You must have trained your yorkie very well!:) |
