Welliness dog food?? Has anyone had any problem with Welliness dog food lately. Mine are on the canned and kibble. Friday nite I opened a can and it had a big glob of black something in it. Made me sick to look at it and I threw it out. Of course for breakfast they had some but Dudley was the one that was sick. He has not felt good the whole week-end. I am going to take him to the vet tomorrow morning. He finally eat some cottage cheese and he is drinking but is just not himself. I bought Blue Buffalo at Petsmart this week and will see what the vet thinks. He is never sick and he just crys and wants to be held. Breaks my heart. |
Do you mean Wellness? I've fed that to Mags for 5 years and have never had a problem. I'm currently in the process of switching Jazzie over to it as well and she's doing great. But, what works for one fur kids may not work for another. I don't use canned dog food though, I only use kibble. Hope your furbaby feels better soon. |
I feed my Prada Wellness simple and thank God , never had a problem so far, I don't use the wet tho, I just wet her kibble with a bit of warm water.. hugs, |

I feed mine the kibble in the morning except for Tina and she eats Wellness senior.(canned) Can't say thats what made little Dudie sick but that black stuff in it just made me sick. I have had them on everything and they always did well on it but I am going to go back to Blue for awhile and see what happens. I want my babies to have good food and something I don't have to worry about, if possible. With all the recalls in the past, I just don't trust nothing anymore. |

I started off with Beneful Original Beef, and decided to change over to Wellness S5 Small Bites. HA, now I have to put TWO bowls out, one for each food. My guys would NOT give up the Beneful for Breakfast, but they eat the Wellness for the evening meal. go figure ! |
I tried Wellness Super 5 Mix on mine, but it made Moka itch terribly so something in it bothers her. I think she has a chicken allergy. So we're now feeding Blue Select Limited Ingredient. I never feed canned food. I hope your baby is feeling better soon. Keep us posted. |
I tried Wellness with Ginger but she just didn't like it. She turned her nose up and wouldn't eat it unless she was starving. I stuck with it for a few months. We had to find something else. From what I've seen it's a great food, rated high and I wish Ginger would have liked it but it just didn't work out. |
I hope your Dudly feels better soon. I feed my Yoshi and Prissy both Blue Life Source dog and puppy food. I had to put Yosh on it last year since we did figure out he was allergic to chicken..At first we thought it was red dye 11 also but not sure now. It seems so many dogs have allergies now. |
I have fed Max wellness can and dried. He is 11 months old and he has always done well.. I am in the process of switching over to completely dry Wellness. He loves it!!!:aimeeyork |
I use to feed Wellness super 5 mix to my girls, but they were not eating enough , and Suzi started to look too thin. I changed them to TOTW and they absolutely love it. |
Dudley seems to be feeling better today. I gave him alittle kayro syrup which helped his bowels move and he eat some Blue B. lamb and vegetables and gave him some yogart. Bless his little heart, I hate seeing my babies feel bad and he had just been laying for the past 2 days. |
That's kind of scarey. Did you actually feed him the food that had the black stuff in it? |
Oh gosh no. I threw the whole can away. But, I have had them on Welliness for sometime and they had eat it for breakfast. If I give them canned, I usually mix alittle kibble in it too, except for Tina. I split a can 4 ways so they always have a fresh can each time they eat. I read last night that Wellpet has bought Welliness out. Maybe thats why its not the same. I don't know, but, I don't want to take a chance with my babies lives. Now I'm even scared of the kibble. |
