Thanking God

A lil background for those who don't know Jazzie....

She's a lil over 1 1/2 years, she spend her first 6 months or so in a puppy mill, only to be sprung out by a lady who wanted her for nothing more than to breed her and make money off of her. When Jazzie wouldn't produce puppies, she was no longer wanted:( Only by the grace of God did I find out about her and God cleared the path and she is now in our home and leaving paw paw prints in our hearts every single day. Jazzie didn't know what a toy was when she came to us, didn't know how to play, didn't know what a treat was and wouldn't eat one for the longest time. She only weighed 3 pound when she came to us, she's finally up to 4 pounds 12 ounces now :D Our lil Maggy is a chihuahua/yorkie mix, she's 5 pounds and just full of spunk and loves rip roaring through the house playing. It broke my heart when she'd try and play with Jazzie and Jazzie would just hide, or role over and expose her belly and shake:( Poor Mags tried everything to get Jazzie to play, even brought toys to Jazzie and laid them in front of her, but even that didn't work:( I've cried so many tears watching Jazzie and how "in a shell" she was. But with every new thing she did (like finally eat a treat or carry a ball, even though she didn't know what to do with it) I've cried tears of joy & have thanked God for helping her along the way. A few days ago, Jazz and Mags started to run around the livingroom together, actually looking like they were having fun:D I was to afraid to move and do anything, I didn't want them to stop. Today, finally, after 2 long months, I'm so happy to report that I got woke up this morning to 2 lil munchkin butts (Mags and Jazzie) running and jumping all over my bed playing their lil hearts out. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect morning. I just laid there in bed and smiled, thanking God for such miracles in my life, and again, for helping Jazzie along the way.... They sure do make my heart smile....

What a way to start the morning:) Thank you for sharing that wonderful story and I am so thankful that Jazzie is in a home where she feels comfortable and knows she is loved. I think God has blessed you both.

My Lola was the exact same way after she left the puppy mill and came home to me. I promise, six months from now your Jazzie will be a totally different dog. Having a dog like Maggie in the house is the best thing in the world for her, as Maggie will teach her about the household rules and routine, having fun, and help her gain confidence exploring new situations. You'll see your sweet little Jazzie-flower bloom more with every passing day. It's so wonderful to stand back and watch her real personality emerge. Now, a year and a half later, Lola helps guide and teach all my new fosters when they come home. It's as if she knows and understands. I guess it's her doggie way of paying it forward. I'm so glad you've been blessed with such sweet little girls. Your hard work is paying off. You have an extra special little fur family, and are a extra special lady for taking on a puppy mill rescue. Love and blessings from our house to yours.

This brought tears to my eyes, then a huge smile to my face! What a blessing that you and Jazzie found each other! :D

Made me cry here, I am going through the same thing with my Molly but the difference is she has spent her whole life in a cage. When she first came to me all she would do is hide. Now , three months later, she is one of the pack. She plays with them and does everything with them and I too am thanking God.

Taryn0405 01-26-2012 06:56 AM

Wonderful story! Glad to see your baby is finally enjoying her life. You're a wonderful mommy for taking such good care of your babies.

My guy Charles 01-26-2012 07:16 AM

Oh, I just love a good story with a happy ending!!! :-)

yavenay 01-26-2012 07:27 AM

That was a great story. She will be a diva before you know it. My Brandi was the same way when I got her at 7 yrs old. Although she doesn't play hardly at all ( she's now 11) she has definitely is the diva of the house.

BlueBelle 01-26-2012 08:04 AM

I agree, we all need to thank God for our pups. You especially were blessed with little Jazzie and she with you.

What a wonderful story to read to start my day. I am so glad that Jazzie found her way to you and Mags. It shows how with love and patience theses poor babies can begin to heal from their emotional wounds.

Doodlebug 01-26-2012 09:24 AM

Reading this brought me chills of happiness. I know it brought you much more than that. Bless you for giving that baby a forever home so she can live the life that she deserves. Big hugs to Mags for showing Jazzie how to be a normal pup.

Patti 01-26-2012 11:52 AM

What a great story.

Teresa Ford 01-26-2012 12:06 PM

Thanks for sharing this story. I can understand. My Gracie was a puppy mill pup with other owners before me. She was a mess. I am so blessed to have her in my life, she has taught me so much the soul of Yorkies. :)

Beabble 01-26-2012 12:59 PM

Thank you to each and every one of you for your kind words in your replies. I'm so glad it made your hearts smile and touched the hearts of many of you :-) I remember crying as I'd watch Jazzie, it just broke my heart to know what she'd been through and I'd often wonder if she'd ever heal and be happy and know how much she was loved and wanted. God takes care of the sparrows, I should have never doubted that he'd heal our lil Jazzie as well. To all of you with furbabies like Jazzie, never give up. Time, love, patience, understanding, compassion and prayer go a long, long way and mean so much to these lil ones. And above all, ANYTHING is possible with God :-)
