I e-mailed the woman, just for the heck of it because it's close to my work and that little face was too cute. And she actually e-mailed me back. He's not neutered, but she has his medical records of all his vaccinations. She needs to move, and my fear is (since she's in Detroit) that his little guy is going to end up in a kill shelter, a common thing in the Detroit area.
I responded to her asking her what her deadline is to move out and am waiting a reply.
Since he's not neautered and if she doesn't get any offers, maybe I can get her down a little bit more. Like I said, I don't want this baby in a Detroit shelter.

Oh, I hope she will lower her price! I can't imagine why you would get a puppy if your living situation was unstable! He's only 5 months old, so she can't have had him for very long! Good luck!

It's so sad, the number of dogs listed for sale on craigslist that are not neutered or spayed :(.

If she is truly serious about wanting him to go to a good home, then that should be her biggest concern, not how much she'll get for him.

Well my message back was basically that she's asking way too much for an a pup that's no neutered. I called my husband and my biggest fear is that if he goes to a Shelter in Detroit, that anyone can pick him up and he'll be a bait dog for dog fighting. Another common thing small dogs are used for in that area. :(

He just shakes his head at me :p

But I have another crate here, given to me by my parents thinking Gizmo was going to outgrow his one now, and tons of extra things (harnesses, leashes, etc.).
My only worry is if he's had all his shots, and is up-to-date with everything.

I understand that worry. I have been through it with Mikki. Can she give you the vets name? That is what the lady I got Mikki from did. That way your vet can call? Just a thought.

Lucky would be very lucky if he gets to go home with you. Fingers and paws crossed it works out for him. He does have such a sweet face.

make an offer. something like "in the event that you don't recieve an offer before you move, and you have no other alternative other than to surender him to a shelter, please let me know - we would be willing to pay you ___."

chances are she'll just jump at it - it's clear she wants to get the dog taken care of before she moves. She's already come down on her price once.

Nothing so far...
If I don't hear anything tonight, I'll text her tomorrow. I'm terrified to see where he came from.
My biggest fear is that he has some of the health issues Gizmo had. But, we'll see.

Does she not know that we are not patient people here at YT!? :D When we find a baby we want, we want it now!! :p Taryn, just remember even a puppy can have health issues. You take that chance no matter what, right? Follow your heart. It will tell you what is best!

My response was I want a happy dog that gets along with Gizmo and is happy and healthy.

I got Mikki without even knowing what I was getting. First vet visit was shots, heart worm test, needed a spay, dew claws removed, and then to find out she has LP. But you know what.....I wouldn't trade her for a million dollars. :) I love to watch her and Rosie play. Yes we have fights but we play more than we fight. I have never regretted getting her.

That's the way I felt when I got Bear. I was talking to a reputable breeder about adopting one of her pups but hadn't put any money down yet. I was dead set on not giving my $ to a BYB. I was concerned about health issues. Then I started browsing on craigslist and Petfinder. When Michelle posted the facebook pic that she'd just found of Bear, I knew he was the one! I didn't know what I was getting into but I knew I had to take the chance. Luckily, he's a very happy, loving and healthy little guy and he's get's along great with Ziggy and Sophie. :)

Good luck! I'm praying this works out for you and that sweet little puppy.

Just got an e-mail back from her, all it said was "Did U get that?". Think we're having some e-mail trouble so this is what I said..
"Yup, I did.
I responded, but I don't know if you got it. So, I'll type it again (sorry if you get it later). Anywho, I think little Lucky is adorable. And we have a Yorkie at home that's looking for a playmate. $300 is a little high for us right now (simply because we'd have to get him neutered as well). However, I know you said you're moving soon. Congratulations on the move, by the way! Very exciting. If you cannot find a good home for him by your moving date, please keep us in mind.
Would you happen to have anymore pictures of the little cutie?
