Do your dogs ever seem bored? I bring Pita to my office with me and she knows the routine well enough that she knows I can't play with her or spend a lot of time messin with her, so she comes in and lays in her lil bed under my desk and just sleeps or stares into space. She does get up and eat and use her peepee pad and she will chew on her bones but nothing like when we are at home! If we are home she is bouncing everywhere! Wanting to go out, looking from window to window, she doesn't sleep all day there. In her car seat she is the same way, it's like she just knows she can't do anything different so she just lays still or sits and looks out the window. If I take her into places and she is in my lap she will just lay there unless I offer her the chance to get down. She is very good about this and it makes her so portable!! Do your dogs do this? Sometimes she seems bored but if she's not content she always lets me know with whining and barking and she doesn't do that. Can dogs get bored? |
I quess. :rolleyes: Mac kinda gets bored at night if he doesn't like whats on TV. He'll lay on the couch and makes a HUMPF noise and lays and his head off the side. |

Cali gets bored when she tires of the toy she's playing with or I'm busy doing something. She will go bother my pom and after getting growled at for awhile she'll go lay down. I don't know how to amuse her all day and night since I am home with her all the time! |
Tucker doesn't get bored. At least, I never noticed. He's pretty much able to make a toy out of anything and have fun with it. But Rusty get's bored a lot. He kind of HUMPF's and snorts until we do something lol. |
Yes, I know what you are saying, since Bailey comes to work w/ me too, he does have a different way here, than the way he is at home.. he seems to sleep more at work,and at home he knows he can let loose. I have a space heater under my desk by his bed, cause it seems like the heat doesnt make it under there,and my feet are always cold, so I know that makes him sleepy. He will get up not matter how tired he is , when someone comes in the office to greet them,, if it's a sunny day he'll get up and lay in the window. And everyday about 4 he gets this burst of energy and will drag his toys out and bang em into people legs,, saying " ok Play with me, I've been good all day" My boss always says " Oh it must be 4:00" lol But yes he is not as active here as he is at home. |
I stay home with Sophie all day and she still gets bored. I had started taking her on a long walk and letting her play outside and it really helped. But now the weather is so cold it is hard to go out for long. She is really spoiled after me and she won't go out by herself. |
I hate to see Gus bored. When I'm busy doing something he will sometimes come up to me with one of his toys or he'll nibble/lick on my hand or feet. And if I tell him no Gus sorry I can't play right now he will just go lay down and sigh. He'll just look at me so sadly as if he saying I'm very bored mom please hurry so we can play. The kids are getting older so they are up stairs doing their own thing. Val will come down and play with him. He's is just loving it now that she is on her winter break. He gets so happy when she or any of them for that matter walk down those stairs. I tell them to take him up with them but he'll only play for a little and start scratching at the door to make sure I'm still here. He's such a momma boy! |
Thor gets bored. Thats when he tears everything up...:) A nice long walk fixs that. |

Luigi used to get bored!!! Until we got him another yorkie to play with all day! Before Brasco, Luigi would be up til midnight or later--always wanting to play and just soo full of evergy! But now, when we come home from work, they eat, play for a while, and they both zonk out! Early!!! Its sooo cute! I think they play alot while we are gone! I leave them their toys with them, and when I come in, they are all over the place!!! So I think for those of you with only 1 yorkie baby--I think you need to get them a brother or sister for the Holidays!!! HAhahah!!!!!! Then maybe they won't be sooo bored!!!!! Hehehe!!! |
Eddie used to bite onto my pants legs when he got bored just to give me a hint. I put a stop to that, but now he follows me around the house, stares and yips. I think I preferred the pants leg biting. |
My Muffin gets really bored cause I cant do much with him yet till my son gets used to him or he settles down. So he sometimes has crazy times, where he is dragging his toys and blanket into his water and food. Or he will sit there and turn his bed upside down and scratches the plastic bottom which is sooo annoying! Or he will chew everything or chase his tail! Crazy dog I swear! MuffinsMom |
When my dogs are bored they will often times want to cuddle. |
