Gum in hair?? I took my dogs on their normal walk yesterday and when we came back and were ready for their brushing, I found gum in Roscoe's hair! It must of happened on the walk but I can't cut it where it is located! He has a long silky coat now and it is beyond pretty!(I need to update pics, LOL!) He has it on the hair leading down to his paws, if I cut it it's going to look to uneven and weird for who knows how long... What the heck can I do to get it out without having to cut his pretty hair? |
Ice or peanut butter is what I use in human hair. I imagine the advise is the same for yorkie hair. Good luck!! |

Mayonnaise, vinegar, or peanut butter will remove gum from hair. Yes, ice works too but depending on how close to the foot the gum is...wouldn't want to make his toes cold! It makes the gum brittle so you can chip it off. I'd be worried about breaking the hair too with ice though if it's really imbedded in the gum. |
I like ice. You rub it on the gum and it makes it hard and you pick it out |

Try one at a time! I suggest the peanut butter or mayo first. |
You could even try cooking spray (like PAM). That works well too :) |

So Mayo worked! now he is angry with me, LOL!!! I will post pics in a few after I bathe the him since now he smells like a sandwich:p |
Tee hee! So glad the mayo worked! Sorry he smells like a sammie, but just tell him what had to be done...had to be done! LOL! Katie Scarlett will 'huff' at me. Like if I do something she doesn't like, she will let out this short breath of air! She kills me and is such a little diva! But she forgives me pretty quick! Can't wait to see pix! :) |
