Bully Sticks...
 
Does anyone know anything about bully sticks? I bought one for Caleb because they said it didn't splinter like rawhide so it was better for dogs to chew on. I bought a 6" one, and he immediately started chewing. Usually when I give him something new, he will smell or poke at it for a few minutes before he even touches it. Anyways, he chewed a good amount of it before he finally stopped. A few hours later he had thrown up on the floor. Was that from chewing too much of the stick? I gave it back to him and he was fine ever since, and he took it just about everywhere he went. I did take it away from him when it got about and inch small so he wouldn't choke on it. I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experiences with them or heard anything good/bad about them before I buy anymore.

Mine LOVE LOVE LOVE Bully Sticks (flossies too)! I do the same as you, take them away when they get small and I always pick them up before I leave the house. Personally, I like them better than anything else even though they stink ;) As with any chew item, always monitor them!

I give mine bully sticks and bully springs. She loves them, but they aren't something that she chews on constantly - just occasionally.

Schatzie absolutely loves bully sticks!!! These are probably her all time favorite chewing thingy. :p

Bouncer absolutely adores the bully sticks we get in at work. I make sure I always have a stash at home for him. He does fine. Your baby might have gotten sick at first b/c it some was something new and he just went at it and got too much for his tummy. It happens sometimes. Nothing to worry about. It's just hard to watch Bounce chew that thing knowing it's a dehydrated bull penis. haha Cracks me up when he really goes at it!

I was told a bully stick is a muscle not a penis...Ewww is it really a PENIS?

haha, well they weren't lying.....that is a muscle technically.....lol It is really a bull penis. It's quite fun trying to find the right way to tell someone that when they come in and ask,"what is a bully stick anyway?" We also sell the Full Bulls....it's like 3 or 4 12" bully sticks long. That one is really interesting when they look at it and realize what it is. But hey, it makes our furbabies happy! :p

The one I got from Petsmart was stinky. The one I got from another local dog store was not, I think it was Merrick brand. Either way, Loki seems to be allergic to them, but he is allergic to everything. He LOVED it though.

Mac & Mellie both love bully sticks. I have never had a problem with them though. I do take them away when they get small.

Mine llove them too but I have never noticed a bad odor...hmmm....anyway I am very careful with them to and throw them away when they are choking size.

Teddy is with the majority here he loves his bully sticks!
I also monitor him closely and dispose of them when they
reach a size I am no longer comfortable with.

lexi loves them too, just ordered a bunch for her.. the thing is , she only eats
it when im around and only on top of me...
