CKC vs AKC What is the difference between CKC Registration and AKC registration? |
There's is a legitimate Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) that is Canada's equivalent to the American Kennel Club. (AKC) Both clubs are super strict in making sure the dogs registered are pureblood and the breeder had breeding rights. There is also a paper registry with the initials CKC and it stands for Continental kennel Club. Anybody can send them money and they will send you a certificate that says the offspring came from purebreds. It’s considered a paper registry because it has no meaning or value to be registered to them. They probably selected the initials to fool unsuspecting buyers who thought they were buying from the legitimate Canadian club. One of the main problems I have with them is a person could buy an AKC dog with no breeding rights and breed them anyway, and register them to the CKC. This is what many have done and I think it's the same as stealing. For more information on registries see this: Registries |
Thanks Nancy. I'll review the info. |
A whole lot if you are speaking about the continental Kennel club |
What happens if you have a pup that comes from a American Mother and a Canadian Father. Where do the papers come from ??? This is the case with our 11 month old yorkie. We're still waiting for the papers from the breeder. |
