Wheezing/reverse sneezing Sometimes Toby drinks his water too quick or the wrong way and he will wheeze a bit or maybe a reverse sneeze. It's usually a one off but this afternoon it has been doing on and off for about 2 hours now mostly when he gets up. I am not sure if drinking water triggered it as I was in the other room. He is very quiet as a result and just not himself. He doesnt have any trachea problems. I rang the vets and they can't see him until tomorrow unless it's an emergency. Any ideas what it would be? |
Is he running a temperature? Watch his vital signs closely, keep him quiet for today; if his vitals worsen, then an er vet today. |

:s He is a bit of a drama queen when he is unwell, likes a lot of sympathy. Maisie is much tougher. So it is very hard to know how bad he is actually feeling. Vet said if I was still concerned later then they would squeeze him in between appointments. |
Momo has this problem. One time, he had my long hair stuck in his mouth & he made this noise until I pulled it out! I avoid giving him any fuzzy toys & always wash his toy balls bc it gets dirty w/dust & hair (bc he likes to roll it under the sofa or bed & bark until I fetch it for him lolll). I also have to keep our floors clean bc he's a yorkie roomba. What seems to help or stop him from reverse sneezing, I hold his nose down toward his chest (this opens their air way). Is he drinking out of a bowl? Maybe a bottle would be better? If he's been doing it on & off for hrs & not being himself, I would be kinda concerned that it might be something other than reverse sneezing...maybe a visit to the vet is in order. Hope he'll feel better soon! |
He is back to normal now. I think it was just the water and he couldn't get it cleared and scared himself a bit. I have him booked into the vets tomorrow for booster vaccinations and will mention it then too. |
