White? Two of my four pups have a little white on their back paws, also some of their nails (on the back paws) are white. What does this mean? The male was Yorkie as is my female. Something else in there? Thanks |
They are probably parti yorkie carriers |
What is that? A recessive gene? |
A parti yorkie is a white yorkie with spots of tan and black. But I know traditional colored yorkies can also carry the parti gene if a parti is in their ancestory. Im no gene expert Im just relaying what Ive read. Go to the blue header at the top of the page where it says search and click on it. Then an area will come up that you can type in something. Type parti yorkies in and click it. Then parti threads will come up and you can read about the parti yorkies. |
Also do a search for parti yorkie carriers |
It's not uncommon for pups to have a bit of white on them, I have had pups before with white paws and also white on chest. As they mature it turns to the gold or tan, I wouldn't say they are parti carriers. Unless it stays white as they grow older. :) |
