Looking for recomended breeder in So Cal We have found one breeder acepuppyoc.com we are going there this weekend to visit property. A friend of ours got his puppy there. Id like a few other breeders to go look at. If your HAPPY with your breeder or NOT HAPPY with your breeder from So Cal please chime in so I also know which breeders to AVOID. We are looking for a quality pup to love for a long time with great health. Thanks in advance for your responces.:animal36 |
Our Ted came from Yorkie Palace. You can find her on-line. She was very caring and informative and answered calls for months after as my daughter was a nervous nelly. Good luck |
thank you :) |
I have no experience with them. They have a nice looking website. Just a small comment and my personal observation only: The sires and dams all seem so sad looking. I don't see that yorkie sparkle. And wow they have so many puppies. How much love can they provide their dogs with that many puppies to care for??? Okay over and out. |
Yorkie Palace has so many puppies? Looks like she doesn't have any right now. Are there two Yorkie Palaces? I don't know anything really about breeders or breeding. I only know her home was sparkling clean, the puppies seemed well taken care of. Her daughter was becoming a vet at the time and provided endless help. We got Ted in 2008. Two years ago he had to have major nose surgery after choking on a carrot, and Julie showed much concern for his health. Like I said, I don't have any experience, but our experience with Julie was fabulous, and she only had the one litter when we got our Ted. |

You may be right. Thats why we are going to visit the breeder. Most of the sires and dams ive seen on breeders websites look .. for lack of a better word, tired to me. Thanks for your responce. These are all things we're keeping, in mind hope ive left enought time to find a breeder we like to get a pup in august. Looks like I should have started this last year. |

No i think they may be refering to the breeder i listed in my post. They do have alot of pups.. |
Oh, I see. Well, good luck finding your puppy. I'm sure you will find the perfect one at the perfect place and have so much fun. I remember when my daughter was first looking for a "Ted." It was as if we were expecting a baby... so much anticipation and excitement. Can't wait to hear when you find your little bundle. xo |

Why accept PayPal before you have even interviewed prospective owners? In terms of the sires: all have too wide earset, perhaps some have incorrect coat, at least two have too prominent eyes (bulging eyes) which I do not care for at all. No Champions listed No mention of any volunteer work they do with the breed. I would not even visit them based on this website. Have you explored www.ytca.org on their breeders page for SoCal |
I got Mocha from a breeder named Cynthia Landry. She is in the YTCA recommended list. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club She is absolutely wonderful and always quick to respond to my million questions during the first year. If you don't buy from her, check out the others on the list. Good luck! |
Here's another review for Cynthia Landry on YT http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...-scruffys.html |
Op, just a little reminder, just because a breeder is on the ytca breeder referral list, does not automatically make them a perfect breeder. You still have to ask questions and interview them, as I'm sure they'll be interviewing you. Don't rush into puppy ownership. Your yorkie will be in your life for a long time, the wait will seem minimal in comparison. Take your time, I'm sure your perfect match is out there. |

Sounds like you are on the right track. Keep the faith. If all else fails, come up to Oregon - I love the breeder we decided on. Also - you probably have already looked in this section of the forums, but if not, Breeder, Vet, & Groomer Reviews - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community It's where you will find most of the individual reviews. Good luck and it will happen! Quote:

Looks like & smells like a 'front' for a puppy mill...possibly connected to Palmdale/Lancaster 'WORLD KENNEL' |
If u take a look @ their gallery of sires, 'Buddy Boy' pictured in the 8th picture is also the dam in the 1st picture...they have a couple repeat pictures for both sire & dam:confused: |
& they have so many different 'popular' breeds available!:thumbdown |
Those are not good signs. They are not someone I would be comfortable getting a puppy from. |
wow great info everyone. Thank you so much. I will go look at the links you have posted. I appreciate all the help :) |
SoCal Breeder I am getting my pup from a breeder near Del Mar. Here's her website: thedecadentdogs.com She's really great and all her pups are really happy and friendly. |

Breeders to run from... I purchased a female Maltese from Cynthia Landry and it was a nightmare. She will pour it on pretty thick that these dogs are her life, and they are until the minute she has your money. I was not told about problems the dog had and when I reached out to Cynthia vie email, she ignored me. When I texted her, she said she was sick. I waited 3 days and texted again. I called. The bottom line, is Cynthia is simply not an honest or reputable breeder. She cares about winning shows. Hard stop. She will say or do whatever is necessary to sell you any dog she can to support her lifestyle of handling dogs in dog shows, but she is slippery as they come. I would not walk away from Cynthia, I would RUN. The Maltese dog handlers are a committed, wonderful group of people. I think they would be aghast if they knew what Cynthia is like to innocent buyers. She has in my opinion, muddied down the breed by her deceptive practices. |

I recently purchased a male yorkie pup from Cynthia Landry and I found Cindy to be genuine, honest, open, patient and kind. |
