My yorkies tail. Help! Hello my baby max is a four month old pup and he is now very healthy and happy but his tail is never standing up his tail only stand up when he is playing but I thought it was supposed to be erect at all times is something wrong? How can I fix this ? Help please! He is my first yorkie and I just want him to be perfect |
How long has your baby been home with you? Could be that your pup is still adjusting to his new home. He should have it up all of the time soon. :) |
Welcome to you & Max! Zhoie is my first yorkie and far from perfect, but the one thing I do know....no dog is perfect. But he will wrap those little paws around your heart and he will become the most perfect dog ever! I know my girl is:thumbup: Sorry, I don't know about the tail, but I'm sure others will be on and keep let you know. Enjoy your sweet Max. Post a picture, we really love pictures:D |
Not sure about their tails and my Prissy is perfect to us just as Yoshi is perfect to us...She is a little terrier and lives up to the name. LOL |
Ive had him for two months now he is well adjusted and loves it here ... And yeah I love him so much I know he is perfect with or with out and erect tail but I just would like to know if there is anything I can do to help it |
Also I will put a picture up as soon as possible |

I honestly don't think you can do anything to make it stand up. Just leave it. If it goes up then it goes up if not then it doesn't. Don't over think it. Just be happy your baby is healthy. |

I think a yorkies tails shows how they are feeling at any given time. When it is up they are happy and confident. When it is down, they might not be feeling well, or just tired. Sometimes the tail is half way up..If the tail is tucked down, then they could be scared or nervous, or feeling bad. I do not think the yorkie tails is ip all the time.. |
When puppies are not confident this can happen! I had a puppy come home with me and her tail went down for a couple of weeks and I talked to the breeder and she gave some advice and it worked! When holding the puppy rub underneath the tail in the upward motion and within a couple of days the tail went up and stayed. It worked for me and I hope it will for you! |
Both my kids have tails and one will carry hers up and the other will leave his down. When they get excited or happy they will bot put them in the air. Chloe my girl will wag hers all the time but Teddy my boy prefers to just let it hang. As long as he doesn't have it tucked underneath him he should be fine. If he has never raised his tail at all then I would worry. I have noticed it is more of a personality thing. |
