Hi Im new here! Hi all Im new here. Mom of 2 boys, one of them with life threatening allergies, asthma, autism. We have been on a long journey to find the perfect pup for our family. And have chosen the yorkie which is allergist approved might I add for our family. We are hoping to get a female pup this coming fall after camping season when we will be home for 5 months to train and get shots and what not for pup. Im here collecting info on the breed, looking around at how to train, possible health problems of breed ect. We are very excited to see the light at the end of our waiting tunnel. Weve been in search of the perfect dog for us for 4 years. Cant wait to get this pup in my arms!:animal36:D |

Welcome! |
Welcome. My puppy's name is Belle. I didn't find her. She found me!! :aimeeyork:) |
Welcome. There is lots of helpful info on Yorkies here. Don't take this the wrong way but who said that Yorkies don't cause allergies? I only ask because you said you kids had life threatening allergies. While the Yorkie does not have typical dog fur it is not fur that typically causes allergies in people. It is the skin dander and the dried saliva of the dog that become air born particles that are allergenic. It is something you may want to look into before you invest in a Yorkie. I would hate to have you have problems after such a long wait. There are products that are available to keep the dander level down that come from the pet but with your kids having such severe problems I would really research this as much as possible. |
thank you for the warm welcome everyone. As for the allergy question my son is allergic the fur on dogs and dander on cats and too many food allergies to list lol. Our 2 allergists have assured us dander will not be a problem with my son or the yorkie pup my son has had scratch tests and blood samples tested, and yes they did tell us their are special shampoos we can use. which we will have to look into if not for dander, for things my son is sensitive to. This house does not use makeup, perfume, Cologne, scented soaps, i only use simple green to clean with. Food allergies, airborne allergies, enviromental allergies suck! Ok enough about me :) tell me about you and your fur babies.. |
Hi and Welcome to YT! I have 3 Yorkies and a Biewer, I hope you enjoy it here! |

Welcome! You sound super sweet and definitely sound like you are prepared to have a heartwarming lil one in your home. It stinks to have to wait though, huh? I only have to wait a week or so more and I can't sleep or eat and all I do all day is shop for my baby and learn as much as possible before he comes :) There should be a "waiting room" for us, lol. It's like we are pregnant with a yorkie :) |
