Hi everyone! I am a newbie. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has knowledge of or experience with inguinal hernias in a young female yorkie? Thanks! |
Hi and Welcome to YT! How old is your pup? |
No idea, but welcome! |

I bought a little girl a few years ago that had one, and i did not know it until i took her to the vet to be checked, he reccomended her being spayed as inguinal hernia's are hereditary, her breeder gave no relief |
Welcome to YT. I do not know anything about them as far as treatment but my Hot Rod had had a surgery for this prior to use getting him. He was totally fine. |
Welcome, I am new too. My son has s**t Suis (spelling?) and everyone he has had a hernnia. Good Luck. |
Welcome and I hope you find the info you need. |
It's a simple surgery. What did you need to know about it? |
I forgot to add that they can disappear by spaying age, but not always. The dr can fix it during the spay. If left unrepaired, there is a risk of it becoming strangulated. |
Welcome to YT...... |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk! :D |
7 months I did a co-own litter with a friend and it turns out 3 out of 4 pups have hernias :( So my show puppy needs to be spayed! |
Not only the puppies but the parents of the puppies also need to be spay/neutered and not breed again. Good luck. |
She isn't my breeding so I have no control over either breeder I doubt if the stud owner will neuter her boy. |
