Same breeder? Please help. Hello all, Looking for some help. I've reached out to a few breeders in my area about puppies and a couple have responded to me. Upon researching one by name, I found this very old thread. Same name of the breeder that I'm communicating with but I wonder if that is where the similiarity ends. Coincidence? The breeder that I'm communicating with is listed on the AKC website. I was thinking that for that fact alone, this breeder would be legit. Breeder's name is Darlene Mills and she is located in Maryland. Any thoughts? Her price is very affordable (way less than some others in this area, in fact). http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...s-parents.html Thanks for your help! |
Doesn't seem like a legit breeder to me. And that affordable price could end up costing you thousands in vet bills later, and lots of heartache dealing with a sick baby. Glad you're researching thoroughly before you buy, that's very smart;) |
that would be a red flag to me if they would not show me pictures of the parents |
yeah, doesn't sound right to me either. the breeder i got my baby oscar from showed me her entire kennel and both parents of oscar. she also keeps the puppies till 10 to 12 weeks of age. |
Actually, I was asking of anyone had any recent knowledge of this breeder, Darlene Mills in MD? I was wondering if she was the same breeder in the older post from 2007 or a different one? But judging from some recent emails from her, I'm beginning to think she IS the same person. Getting her to send pics or answer some basic questions are like pulling teeth. *sigh* My search continues.... |
Same breeder from 2007? Possibly. Really doesn't matter though, a rose by any other name (or same) is still a rose. Great job researching - you should continue looking for a good breeder. Good luck in your search! :) |
Im sorry that your search will have to continue. You show great wisdom in wanting to make sure that the breeder is someone that you will be able to talk to for a long time. You want the experience to be a happy one. When I found Mina's breeder she was already 12wks. I asked that she stay an extra day or two because she had just gotten a shot and I didnt want to stress her out, longest weekend of my life. When I went to pick her up she,her mommie and one of her sisters were dressed alike, freshly groomed with hairbows too. We stayed and played with her, sister, mom and dad for almost 2hrs. I was sent home with a big bag full of goodies to start with and a stack of reading material to make sure that I had alot of information. I picked her up on a Monday, that ment if there was a problem in her first few days my vet would be available. She saw my vet for the first time, well puppy visit, on Tuesday. I do wish you the very best in your search and hope that your experience once you find the breeder is as wonderful as the one that we had. I still communicate with the breeder. |
