Hi New to Yorkie Talk Hi, BJ and I are new to this forum. BJ is my new Yorkie Puppy. She was born Oct.29, 2011 and still weighs 1 lb. 5 oz. She is my baby and my little companion. I lost my yorkie Dee Dee at 10 years of age. I loved her dearly. She was an exceptional little girl. I want to read what all of you are feeding your Yorkies, any new help, since it has been 10 years since I had a puppy. Nice to be here and look forward to hearing from all of you. |
Welcome to YT:D Congrats on your new puppy:love: You can find lots of info about foods in the Health and Diet section here: Yorkie Health & Diet - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community Start with the "stickies" at the top and you should find all you need to know to choose a good food for your baby. So sorry for the loss of your beloved Dee Dee:unlove: A lot of us here know exactly how that feels and sympathize. These little ones are so darned special and they really get into your heart! By the way, we LOVE LOVE LOVE pictures, *hint hint* |
Welcome to yorkie talk and congrats on your new baby. |

Hello and welcome to YT! |
Hi there & welcome to YT! p.s. My father lives in Blacklick Ohio ;) |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I am new here too and this is my family's first time adopting a Yorkie. We are in love. This forum has been sooooooo helpful. I would suggest reviewing the Yorkie Care guide they have here. It was a tremendous help to me. Again Welcome.:) |
welcome and congrats! |
Thanks to All Hi, and Thanks to all who replied. I look forward to the many interesting facts and comments on this site. I will put a picture on soon. She needs a bath but it is so cold and she is so tiny I am going to hold off until she gains a little weight. One pound five ounces at 8 weeks. Vet says she is either a slow grower or will be small. I saw parents. The mother was larger than my baby I lost, Dee Dee. She never got over 7 lbs. and then we put her on a diet. I hope BJ gets close to this and is healthy. It killed me when I lost Dee Dee and I had just lost my husband two months prior to that. I was not going to get another dog. We had a Doberman for 15 years and when she passed I said no more dogs, hurts to much to lose them. My husband picked Dee Dee he said she was far from reminding us of Brandy. She was so small. We loved her so much. Losing both my husband and my little baby, my son took me for a ride and we ended up at a breeders of Maltese and Yorkies. I said NO but the more I played with her my heart began to melt and she is a great little companion. Very smart. Wants to be right with me. I want to wean her off the wet dog food, she eats Iams now also but still wants her other. I have only had her a short time so we have made great progress. She is now pad trained. Too cold here to let her outside and we didn't let Dee Dee out only in summer on enclosed patio. Good Luck to all of you and your Yorkie Babies. They sure get into your heart. Since I was so determined not to get another dog, I think God, my husband and Dee Dee sent BJ to me, I am so lonely and heartbroken. God Bless You All. |
