question I am wanting to know if it is easier to crate train a puppy that is 8 wks old or if its just as hard as an older pup? |
I really don't know but I crate trained my 6 yr old Pekingese and now training my Yorkie,,they both love their crates..I never reach in and get them, they come out to me, the crate is their haven and safe place. |
I think 8 weeks may be a little too early to crate train. Hopefully some experienced breeders will weigh in on this. If you do it, be sure to provide lots and lots of potty breaks. |
I think it would be harder because they are so young that they should still be with there moms and also have a smaller bladder so will need more potty brakes. Be sure to watch your baby carefully because she is so young and at risk for hypoglycemia. |
I am home and my furkids gets lots of breaks,,Prissy spends a lot of her time in her playpen but loves her crate for sleeping and when I have to go out...Yes with a young pupster they need lots of time taking potty breaks..I still take Prissy out a lot since I am trying to train her to go outside and I admit she is doing awesome,,she is 14 weeks old. Good luck and give lots of love. |
