Why!!??? Why is it that when a someone becomes a new member and asks a question because they need help....some members (who are probably not even true breeders) feel the need to tell them what to do....you SHOULD do this and you SHOULD do that! I feel bad for these new members...they are only here because they need help...then the thread gets hijacked....and another member goes through this...I don't understand this...people come on here because they need our help...not told what to do...I am as passionate about my 3 furbabies as any of you here...I don't feel the need to tell people what to do...I agree..unless you are breeding to better the breed...and you are only doing it cause you need a new car...then don't do it!! I have been a member here for quite a while now....I have seen members come and go...I actually know a few people who won't come on here anymore...and yes...they are breeders who show....because they get ostracized....I am NOT a breeder but, left for a while because of some of the comments on here....I would like to stay this time. We recently bought a yorkie boy from an excellent breeder...he is 5 months old and he is NOT neutered yet...he is only 2.6 lbs and the vet suggested we wait until he is 8-9 months old...my females ARE spayed so there is no chance of them breeding... sorry for this but I needed to get this off of my chest |
Congratulations on your new baby boy!!!! Please share some pictures... |
Congrats on your boy :) |
I fully agree:thumbup: everyone is entitled to there opinion but that does not mean shoving it down someones throat :) I had not been on here for a while and came back on a few days ago to offer my opinion based on my own personal experiences but was jumped on by another member who seemed to think just because i gave a different opinion to her that i was trying to disprove her posts which i was not:rolleyes: I remember when this was a friendly place to share opinions and stories :( |
 I have read several threads that leave me asking " why am I still reading this?" I deal with confrontation on a daily basis in my job as a LEO. I come here to read about others experiences and the suggestions of others, but I do not see how some threads go so terribly wrong. Then I read a thread where someone is given advice and follows it, then everything goes right. A thread where a baby is rescued and it makes it all better. :) P.S I have learned a lot since becoming a member. Thank you YT!! |

I guess I am one of the people you are talking about..........I try to remember these little dogs don't have voices. I never hijacked a thread by simply posting with another poster talking about what everyone else was talking about which was neutering. People have to remember when they post on a post board they are going to get lots of answers some being ones they don't like. You can have your opinion but everyone else gets to have there's too. It really is annoying that people post complaining about YorkieTalk I personally love YorkieTalk and everyone's difference of opinions. I feel like if you don't like it then why come back? |

I think you will see the differences in any type of forum. I believe it is just human nature. Honestly, when I am reading threads I expect to see different opinions expressed. The OP of the thread needs to realize that they are just that, opinions. You don't have to do what anyone suggests. It is what they think is best and how they feel about the situation. No one is obligated to follow any advice given here. So many on here have seen such terrible situations and their passion is to help the pups. Sometimes the OP don't like to hear that but if you consider what the others have seen it may make more sense why they are so passionate with their advice. There are so many good and knowledgeable members here. But they are going to tell you what they feel is in the best interest of the pup. I think some people let their emotions take over and things tend to get ugly. As far as the breeders go, I don't think anyone on here has bad things to say about good breeders. But I know in my area there are many that are not good breeders. These pups are treated terribly and tossed away when they are of no use to them anymore. So many are in rescues and shelters. The members here are passionate about that because we want these pups to have the best life ever. Fosters are full and everyday new pups need rescued. It is heartbreaking to us. And as a pet lover, it is hard for us to handle. I think everyone needs to realize this is a forum and opinions will be expressed. Some you will agree with and some you will not. When there is something I don't think is in my best interest to get involved in then I walk away. It just works out for the best. Hopefully these new members will keep that in consideration. If they are truly looking for help for their pup, this is the best place to get experienced advice. This is just my opinion. |

I think a lot of people let their passion for yorkies over ride the most effective way to help educate people. I too have noticed a lot of people wanting help and information. They come and post a question, and get blasted because of their ignorance. Instead of giving instruction in a way that will keep newbies around it is often done in a very harsh manner. The information is legitimate, but is lost in the overall tone of the message. How many people join and post a question, and never come back? They are people that as a group we can help educate, but instead we run them off. |

I hope Gemy gets on this thread. She's a breeder and I'm sure she'll have a few interesting things to say. |
