I am still so impressed with the service that they put forth with Bogey! Like Cathy said the new smaller tags are perfect for the little guys. I highly recommend purchasing for all your babies. To me there is nothing more important than getting my baby back safe and sound. If my some freak accident they were to get caught on something inside my home so be it. I'm willing to accept full responsibility for their well being. I would never be able to forgive myself if they were to get out and not be found ASAP for lack of ID. |

I'm so relieved that your dog is safe at home. All of my dogs are microchipped, but they also wear collars with tags 24/7. I do not understand why anyone wouldn't keep visible ID on their pets. The microchips are great and I've had a positive experience with my fiancé getting his dogs back when the wind blew down a portion of the fence and they took off running a few years ago. Recently I had an experience that reinforced just how important tags are. I was leaving my home at 1AM to pick my son up from work and found 2 dogs running up and down my street. They were extremely friendly and both had collars but no tags. I didn't recognize them and couldn't just leave them running loose, so I put them in my fenced back yard. I called animal control in the morning to see if anyone had reported them missing and thankfully their owner had called a few minutes earlier. They had escaped their yard when let out for a midnight potty break and their Mom stayed up all night worrying. If they'd had been wearing tags they would have been home much sooner and wouldn't have had to spend the night on my back porch. My dogs don't bolt. They know that they don't go out the front door without their harnesses and leashes. I try to make sure my gate is always secure... but things happen and having tags on their collars makes it much more likely that I'll get my babies back. |
Aw how scary! :( Just happy to hear all went well and Bogey made it home safely. :) |
Yikes! Jodi, I'm just now finding this. So thankful Bogey is home safe and sound.:) |
I have two Lucky Pet tags with the owner , a smaller one for Sophie Kates collar and one for her harness. When I have Sophie Kate groomed I always remove her collar and ask them to keep her harness on at all times when they are done (she has a CT and I will not risk them walking her with a collar). Any other time Sophie Kate is always wearing her collar. |
MM - I'm so glad your dogs were safe. I would have been panick-stricken, as I'm sure you were! Why someone would leave your gate open?? Thank you so much for posting the info on the tags you used. I think they are such a great idea! We will be ordering for the girls! :) |

The microchip my dogs have came with a tag that had the company's 800 number and my dog's microchip number on it. I thought the tags were a little big so I made tags that have their chip number and the 800 phone number of the microchip company on it. I have a Google Voice number on the tags too so that a caller will ring multiple phones at once such as a work phone, home phone, cell phone, and if needed I can add a vacation phone or other phone. Google Voice also sends me any texts and call alerts to my email and texts and call alerts to my cell phone if somebody texts a message or calls. |
So glad you got your baby back. And, yes, collar AND a lock on the gate are two of the best things you can do to keep your babies at home. :) |
morgan is microchipped but I am thinking about getting him one of those tags also |
I'm a little confued by this service though... How is this better than someone seeing my cell phone and dialing my cell and me answering it?? |
I am a big fan of Lucky tags (they're Seattle-based!). Dori wears a harness. She has a wardrobe of 15 different Puppias in all colors and designs. EACH one has a Lucky Dog tag (mainly the mini bone and plastic ones). Although she also has a microchip, I have zero worries about her ever getting lost without an ID. |

The tag reads like this Bogey Jodi P My full address My Phone # LuckyPet # All of the rest of the information is stored in the LuckyPet data base. They have the capability of sending out multiple calls and txts until someone answers them back. :) BTW~ComEd as not called me back and I'm still livid! I will be following up next week. :thumbdown |
