More Callie updates I forgot to give an update on Callie after her last physical therapy appointment because we had family come in from out of state like right when we got home. The physical therapist said Callie is still doing great and she is now aloud to go up and down hills, ramps, and she wants her up to 15 minute walks by the next time we see her. Instead of seeing her the next week (which would actually be this Thursday) she said to do 2 weeks this time and that when we go back she thinks it will be time to start doing stairs. Callie very rarely doesn't walk on her back right leg which seems really great to me because obviously right after surgery she was not walking on it at all. My dad built her a ramp from the deck to the grass so she is really liking being able to walk outside on her leash and not being carried all the time. One of the things we were supposed to work on is her stepping over things instead of hopping over them and she is doing awesome with that. She did say her leg was still skinny but that it doesn't seem like she lost all of her muscle. I am just so excited to see how much better she is doing. I sit and think back to right after surgery to now and am so happy with her progress. Her little leg looks so straight compared to what it did look like. |

Callie you are a real trooper :D. Keep up the great work - you have got wonderful support! |
The physical therapist said she could walk around the house some as long as she couldn't go up stairs or jump so I just blocked off every piece of furniture, closed the bedroom doors, blocked off the stairs, gave her a bully stick and laid down her favorite thing to lay on a big fluffy towel. She is very happy laying and chewing her bone. |
