What do you do for winter? Its winter and im visiting my family in Colorado. I was wonder what you guys do right after your baby gets out of the bath. Carter is always SHIVERING even if hes wrapped up in towels, towels more towels and some blankets here and there. Hes just too used to the Florida weather. Will he get over that? |
I let Callie do her after bath dance and then I blow dry her. |
Harry too - he loves the hairdryer! :) I bath him in a very warm bathroom, then rush him all wrapped up in a towel into our bedroom which I've previously made very warm. By the time he's finished prancing around, showing us how wonderful and fluffy he's looking, he's forgotten all about shivering! :D Sally + Harry x |
I always heat Prissy's towel in the dryer, when I about done I tell my husband to get the warm towel, then I blow dry her, not much shivering at all. I hate to be chilled myself after bathing so why should my babies? |
My guys are all afraid of the hair dryer, and towel drying isn't exactly the best thing when it is super cold, so I use my fleece snuggle sacs for drying the pups! Fleece natually takes the moisture away from the skin, and it dries much faster than a towel. After a little while in the sack, I brush them out, and they are pretty much dry. |
I bought an electric heater (for this reason) to put it in the bathroom... and it will be all toasty in there (just to ensure he's not cold)!! Then after I'm finished bathing him I wrap him in a warm towel and blow dry him. |
I snuggle Sophie in a thick absorbent towel for a few minutes then blow dry her. I like the idea of warming the towel in the dryer.:) |
We gave Basil our 3 month old Shih tzu a bath for the first time on Sunday. He was great through the bath but he was really afraid of the hair blower. We finally got him dried off but I kept him in my room with the heat on high until he was totally dried. |
Hugs in towel and then blow dryer on low and he's dry in less than 15 minutes (Oz has fairly short hair). Make sure you're bathing him in water that really warm but not hot. Oz shivers while I'm shampooing him but he just melts when I rinse with the really warm water using the sprayer. I think it's like a puppy massage for him! |
I warm up a towel in the dryer and use a space heater then blow dry the hair |
I'm assuming your family has the heat on in there Colorado house, so it shouldn't be that cold inside. I towel dry ZoE, then set her down while she does her after-bath zoomies around the house for a few minutes. That seems to warm her up a bit. Then she gets blow-dried on low heat. She seems to really like the warmth of the blow dryer. |
I turn up the heat in our bedroom or I bathe them when we have a fire going in the fireplace. I use towels to get them as dry as possible and then let them run around like nuts rubbing against everything. Once they settle down Fletcher is usually dry and Dexter shivers sooooo hard, so I wrap him in a fleece blanket and hold him until he's dry and warm. |
Lola also gets wrapped up in her towel and gets lots of Love, Hugs and Kisses while she gets blow dryed, and then of course we always give her a special treat at the end. She hated the blow dryer at first but now she is used to it and sits patiently waiting for her treat:D |
Paris likes the hair dryer after rubbing all over the carpet! |
Definitely blow dry -- and make sure I don't let them out in the cold while they're even a little wet. Well, at least not for long and not watching them closely. |
