Leaving my guy for the first time..... Before Brutus came into our lives we planned a vacation. We leave Sunday am - early and get back real late Friday night. I have someone staying at our house to take care of Brutey, but it's not me. I have contacted our vet and the nearest ER just in case - gave them our sitters info with payment info if needed. Went over his schedule (in writing) and I feel good about his care. Now I keep thinking in less than 48 hours I won't be here for him. How will he react when we get home? Will he be upset with us? Will he regress in his training? What if he stops eating? Oh my how these little guys have a part in our lives. |
awww AWWW... I'm about to go on a trip to... I know your baby will be just fine... Brandy has been sick for a little and every time she gets to come home shes never mad just really happy to come home... As for regressing on training I don't think it would be a problem... Brandy was gone last time for nine days and when she got home she knew where to go potty.. so don't worry much have a good time.. check in when you feel like, there's no rule that says you can't... Good luck |
Good morning! :) Oh, it makes you feel so terribly guilty, doesn't it?!! But look, you're doing the very best thing - having someone to come and stay at yours instead of boarding him out. At least he's among his familiar things and smells! Is he very used to the person who's staying? And might it be possible for that person to come and stay with you from the day before you're due to go? Just thinking then the changeover might be smoother! :) Good luck, it will be fine! I was nervous when we left Molly for a week in October. She did great. Sounds like you have everything in order. I did call the sitter a couple of times though!! |
leave something that smells like you, a t shirt or blanket |
