Bad, bad Emmie! 1 Attachment(s) Okay so, Emmie lately has been shreading her pee-pee pads when we leave her in her playpen the last few weeks! They are kept in a pee-pee pad holder but i am assuming she digs at it and gets it out. I would very like to outside train Emmie and get rid of the pads 100% but it is really just not as easy. I am not home every hour to let her out and she will just not go outside! I get up everyday and go to school so I am guessing she is having anixiety..I leave her a kong and multiple toys in there but she always ends up destroying the pee-pee pad. I do not know what to do?! On a better note, here is a picture of Emmie Shea as she went with us to pick up her big brother Reecy the s**t-zu at the groomers and they were kind enough to put this lil' bow in :) |
Have you tried taping them to the holder with masking tape? I have no other suggestions. Pad training is the best if no one can let her out. It sounds like she's just bored or maybe it's her way of telling you off.:) |
Haha, thats a good thought. I know she is such a little rascal she acts like she gets no attention but she get nothing but that!! |
how about a grid system like UGO Dog? thats the system i use |
Thankyou for the suggestion! I will have to look into that! :) |
Try using the washable reusable pads......she can't shred it....(although it may keep her busy all day trying.....) LOL |
Thankyou |
Please make sure she can't get the tape up before you leave her alone with a taped down pee pad. If she can get part of it up she may end up chewing on tape as well. She obviously is mad or bored or both about being alone while you are gone. Other than finding a more interesting toy for her I don't know what to tell you. She may get bored with this pass time after a while.....hopefully. |
Ok thanks! |
pad shredding My little guy was doing the same thing for a couple of weeks then he stopped. Don't know why he started doing or why he stopped. He has someone with him 24/7 probably just his playful nature. I know that if you spray something with cologne most dogs will stay away but then he/she might not pee/poop there so not a good idea. Maybe put toys in his pen so that he has something to play with other than that be patient. :) |

How about washable pads? |
We bought washable. I got several packs of them at petco, buy 2 get 1 free, and have enough that I can change them out twice a day (we have 3 dogs) in the kitchen and in their bathroom. I put them in the washer with bleach on a sanitize cycle. I got tired of them shredding the paper ones, and throwing away money to buy them.... |
