New Harness Options I'm looking at getting Gizmo a new harness for Gizmo for Christmas. Right now he has a step in fabric one that we got from a store awhile back, but to be honest it' gets really worn looking and the material is starting to fray a little bit. I like Puppia, but they're more a vest, not just a harness and buddy belt my husband refuses to buy becaus he hates that you have to put it on like a belt. Anyone have any suggestions for a choke free harness option? |
I was going to suggest Puppia or Buddy Belt, LOL, but since those are out... How about the harness actually called the Choke-Free Harness? It's leather, it's similar in style to the Buddy Belt, but no belt. ;) You can get new ones on ebay or amazon for cheaper. I have both the BB and the ChokeFree and like them for different reasons. ChokeFree seems less bulky, for sure, IMO. It's like a thinner leather. http://www.chokefree.com/id4.html Puppia is my go-to though. I find it to be the easiest to put on, seems the most comfortable, easy to wash, so don't worry about it getting wet or dirty. |

Harry loves his Choke Free - we had to have it shipped over and it was worth every penny :) It's so easy as the D ring slots through and is secured through velcro - ingenious. Gorgeous colours, too!! ;) :D Sally + Harry x |
I found a website that has them pretty cheap. Now I just gotta go home and measure the little booger! |

Choke Free Dog Harnesses - Everyday Low Price - Metallic & Non-metallic We're hoping to get it in time for Christmas! |
One of the things that makes the buddy belt so great is the buckle like a belt its a lot sturdier then a plastic push together buckle or velcro and its so darn easy to adjust if you put clothing on them. I hated getting one I had to adjust every time I put it on Callie because either last time it was on her she had clothes on and then I have to size it smaller because shes nakied or she was nakied last time and this time has clothes on. |
chattiesmom (yt member) makes harnesses....I bought 2 front (D) ring harnesses....I have 2 pullers...she did an awesome job and they really do help with the pulling. |
oh my gosh.....live and learn!!!! i'm embarassed to admit this but i have always walked past the buddy belts in our local pet store snickering...i thought they were googles for people who liked to take their dogs on motorbike or something....i was like what a silly thing. they look huge. Turns out i actually need this for Brew! i does well on a collar with his walks (he isn't a puller), but from what i have read about collars on here i think i'd better go with the safe route. i can be a real ditz at times... had to share the laugh of the day! |
Morgan loves his buddy belt/ it is so easy to put on him  |
My husband caved to the buddy belt after he saw the responses! |
