yorkie & bladder stones Our yorkie in the last two yrs has had two operations for bladder stones. She was put on urinary so prescription diet but it caused her to be thirsty alot & she would then urinate so often. Now she is eating Hill's prescription diet C/D urinary tract health. Now she isn't drinking alot of water. She has always been so good in letting us know when she had to go outsdoors but after this 2nd operation she doesn't. We have to guess on that. Wondering why that would be? We're told that she should have a liver test as there could be something there that is causing these stones. Has anyone ever had a yorkie having this sort of problem? I would like to hear about it. Thanks in advance. |
It's a common breed problem. Do you know what kind of stones your yorkie had? |
My Toby Tyler had bladder stones this summer, and surgery. I feed him the cd (hills), canned and dry. Toby never has drank alot of water, but the vet said its really important for him to drink alot, that even wetting his food would help. I started giving him water from a syringe about 3 times a day. He thinks its wonderful, silly boy thinks its a treat and cant wait when I ask him if he wants a drink. |
