Finding Friends Hi everyone.. Firstly, happy festive season to everyone. I haven't been on here in a while:( glad to be here though.. Ok so I have been on a quest to find my little Ziggy [who is now nearly 8 months and close to 3lbs :)] some friends. And it has been sooo hard. Either the dogs are too aggressive, or the owners are snobish. Like today, I was taking Toby on a walk and I ran into a little yorkie girl. I ran home, put Toby away and ran out with Ziggy. When i got to her I asked to introduce Ziggy to her girl and they got on pretty well. She is 6 months and smaller than Ziggy (about 2.5lbs at a guess). They live right next door to us. So i get super excited and ask if we could organise a playdate.. She then says: "well he is bigger then my savanna and im taking her for her spay next week, so we'll see" at this she walks away. I was so upset actually!Yes he is about half a pound and 1inch bigger! i would say they are in the same weight class! Arg! And i cant get Ziggy a playmaye till i move out.. Arg, im just venting i guess! Coz i know how much ziggy loves other dogs! THanks for reading |
Have you done any puppy classes or dog training classes with your baby? Katie Scarlett has made so many new doggy friends (of all shapes and sizes too) there. Her biggest pal is this huge mastiff. His name is Bailey I think and the most gentle dog I've ever seen. He gets down on all fours and just sits there while Katie Scarlett sniffs and crawls over him. Then she will get right down by his face and go belly up. It's hilarious. And the people we have met there have been so down to earth and so nice. There are no other Yorkies in her class, but she has met one other Yorkie at the vet. They were nice, but it was just a quick hello. We have ran into a few other dog owners at places like Petco and PetSmart that kind of stick their noses up in the air at us and won't let Katie Scarlett near their dogs and I'm not sure why. She loves all dogs and all people so far. She just wants to say hello. I don't know if they are afraid their dog will hurt her or what, but I usually just keep on walking and ignore it. But the puppy class (which is at a local dog training center in our town) has been such a blessing! We love it there. Are there any classes in your area you could sign up for? And from there you might could organize playdates? Good luck to you hon! I'd love to set up a play date with ya if I wasn't so far away! :) |
