When did your yorkie get really cuddly, if at all? When did your yorkie start getting really cuddly? I don't know what it is, but all of a sudden Bentley wants to sleep next to me, sit on my lap on the couch. I love it! He wasn't like that before though. Me and my husband used to say he was very independent. He would sit on the couch but away from us and sleep under our bed. Did this happen to anyone else? I'm not complaining! I'm excited! I finally have a cuddler! :) |
All of mine have always been cuddlers, you have no idea how hard it is to get a good nights sleep with 5 of them wanting to cuddle you but I would not change it for anything |
jewely was cuddly from the moment we brought her home. Chachi was independent and playful as a pup but became cuddly as an adult |
I've noticed Mojo is NOT a cuddle, lover type of guy, lolol, even though he sleeps right against my leg and even on his back next to me. There is no sweet talking him or just simple sweet petting in my arms. I've never lived with a yorkie before, so dont know if it's the breed or just him. No sweet kisses either! Don't get me wrong, he is a super sweet little man, tail always wagging and follows me EVERYWHERE!!!! Including trying to jump in the bath with me,hahaha! But he is always on the move, playing, running, and too excited to be still long enough for a good tummy rubbing session! My doxie Penny on the other hand loves to be held like an infant, talked to, loved on, kissed, you name it! She even smiles at you! The 1st time I took her to my vet all the office people just had a fit over her! When I picked her up, they couldnt stop talking about how she smiled at them, actually smiled, hehehe! I guess I have the best of both worlds, a sweet loving little girl, and a sweet playful boy... made of what else??? snips and snails and puppy dog tails! :) |
If memory serves (and it rarely does at my age), Eddie wasn't much of a cuddler until he was a year old or so, maybe a little longer. Jillie was a cuddler from the beginning, but at 2 she seems to be getting even moreso. She's always lying on my lap, and if I get up from bed in the middle of the night, she follows me until I go back to bed. |
I have a doxie as well. And he is the biggest lover and cuddler I have ever known. He always has to be right next to me and wants to be petted and loved on. Must be a doxie thing. Haha! He's a very needy guy. Although Bentley has gotten super cuddly, he isn't really needy. And our boxer...well, she will get in your lao if u let her. Love how all three are so different and perfect all at the same time. I have been trying to discourage everyone sleeping on the bed bc I literally have no room. All except Bentley who we allow. But I have not slept well at all w/o all of them in bed with me. Haha! Its just not the same not having to wake up to push one over or wake one up for snoring (boxer). Think I may have to give in and let them sleep with me tonight so I can get some sleep. It hasn't bothered them one bit sleeping on their comfy bed cuddled with eachother. And Bentley has certainly enjoyed more room in bed with us. Haha! |
Bubba, who is 6(will be 7 next month) has always been a cuddler, kisser and playful. If I leave the room, he is ok with it.Sissy, who just turned 6 has just started to be a cuddler in the last year or so. She has always been a kisser and never liked to play with toys or balls. When I leave the room, she is off the couch and right behind me in 10 seconds. They are like complete opposites. |
Jackson just started being more cuddly in the past year or so (he's 3). He used to always lay by the bottom of my feet, now he's typically curled up against me. He's more willing to lay his head in my lap if we're on the couch, etc. :) I LOVE it!! |
Ms Daisy (5 y.o.) is always begging to be picked up, while Mr J Gatsby (3 y.o.) does not like it, although he certainly does tolerate it (he is so cute you just can't help it). Gatsby is, however, quick to lie on his back for a tummy rub, but he never wants to just sit on your lap while Daisy begs for the privilege. This often presents an issue, since playing fetch with Gatsby - his favorite pastime, is not always easy with his sister on your lap. She likes fetch a lot too, but does not obsess over it! I have taught my smart boy to bring his toy closer so I can toss it while still sitting with Daisy on my lap, but he sometimes does not bring it close enough:rolleyes:. |
My Daisy has turned into such a sweet little girl at three years |
I have noticed this lately too! Bailey has decided she wants to be cuddled A LOT. She always would tolerate cuddling, but never really asked. Lately she has been sitting on my lap sleeping on the couch. Snuggles next to me all the time... sometimes even asked to be picked up. Weird... |
My theory is that everyone (dogs & cats) at my house get a whole lot cuddlier when it starts getting cold out. I joke that I don't know if they love me or are just leaching my heat... Seriously though, mine are all cuddlers, but they cuddle a whole lot more in the winter. |

Gracie slept curled up in my arms from the first night I had her. She has always been one to cuddle. Although she is a little lover she especially wants to be held more when it gets cold out. She of course she is close to the floors that get drafty so whenever I sit down she wants to be held so she can get some body heat. She is not quite so clingy in the summer time. |
Prissy likes for me to pick her up but when I try to pet she is very mouthy, well at 11 weeks that is normal..but when she gets tired she loves to sleep on my lap..she can be lovable when she wants to be... |
Max has always been cuddly. Teddy "submitted" to cuddles, but he didn't really cuddle back until about age 2. Now he can't get enough cuddle time. :) |
Princess was a major cuddler, sleeping next to me nightly, until she was about one. Then I put beds in the hall & bathroom & she'll usually sleep there. Once in a while I'll wake up to her & she's the first thing in the door once she hears me wake up, even before I can get my glasses on, lol. Recently she's been sleeping with me again & I think it's because she's cold. Other than that she gets really lovey a little bit everyday, you can see her lovey mood take over.:aimeeyork Whatever makes her happy as long as I can give her a lil squeeze once in a while, I don't mind.:) |
Hot Rod has always been a cuddler. I'm not sure who was worse, him or me, he was so little (1.57 lbs) when we got him. I was so afraid he would jump off the couch so I held him a lot. Maggie was about 2 before she was really so cuddly. Now one of her sweet nicknames is "Maggot" if this gives you any indication of how cuddly she is. :D |
I got up really early this morning and Prissy cuddled with me,,she wants to sleep on my lap too. Yes I do think she will be a cuddly baby. |
Katie Scarlett has been a cuddler from the moment we first met her. She is such a little attention diva. She thinks she has to be the center of attention at all times. She loves to cuddle with me and my husband. She would stay in one of those clip on thingies (you know like Mom's carry their babies in) if I had one I think! LOL. She is laying on my chest right now as I type. Every now and then, she will go into her little tent and sleep, but it's rare. Even if she is not sleeping with or on us, she is right at the foot of the couch near us. We are blessed with a cuddle bug! I hope she stays this way cause we love it! :) |
Levi loves attention, and he loves following me around and being close by me, but I'm still waiting for him to get really cuddly. He'll be 4 in January. Dude just likes his space. :D He usually sleeps by my feet, but within the past six months or so, he's begun cuddling a bit more. My goal is for him to be a real cuddle-monster by the time he's 6. |
Teddy has been a cuddler since we brought him home. He always wants to snuggle me and lay on my lap but once he gets sleepy enough he'll either curl into a ball on side of me or go to the other end of the couch and sleep on his towel (I keep a towel on the couch for him for when he's wet from drinking water or pottying or going outside in the mornings or sometimes when he's just wet for no reason lol) |
Since day one on both, and I notice the two new pups, She is more of a cuddly. He is all over the place , so we'll see if that will chge. bark@ulater!!!! manina, miley, max, reirei, rudy |
Pheebie is almost 7 months and loves to cuddle on my lap and will fall asleep if she can rest her head in the crook of my arm. She loves sleeping in our bed but hates being under the covers (I am always freezing so have a heating blanket-it's probably too warm for her). She loves to sleep on my feet - I wish she cuddled next to me but she's just not interested. I've always had to seek her out to get her to sit with me in the recliner but in the last couple of weeks, she actually tries to jump up with me if I'm not holding her :-) I figure she might just take time to do the things "I" want her to do or she may never do them :-) I've learned that she's quite the free spirited girl and she decides if and when she'll do something and I love that about her too :-) |
Baby Bear started being cuddly in the last six months or so, he is two and a half years old. |
chester was a cuddler from day 1 and still is, love it |
Mr. Baxter I have a 6 month old male yorkie/toy fox terrier named Baxter that I hoped would be a cuddler, but not so far. The most I can get from him is first thing in the morning. After that, not much. If we are all in the living room, he is on the floor across the room. He will sleep with us, but at the foot of the bed, far away. We also have a 2 yr old female dachshund/cocker spaniel mix, Bella that has always been a lap dog. She still is! Hoping Baxter cuddles soon!! |
