snow balls in fur Well we finally got our first snowfall of the year yesterday. Poor Bella went out in the morning to do her thing and she was covered in snowballs when she came in. The snow was sticky and her fur was covered. There were so many that she had a hard time to get up the stairs. I started to try and pick the balls off of her but that didn't work. Finally I put her in the bathroom sink and took the hairdryer to melt them. This is her second winter but last year her coat was not long enough to collect much snow. She looked so funny. I am so glad I only have another month here before I go to Florida for the winter. I know now why so many people train their babies to pads....LOL:):):) |
Daisy gets snowballs really bad too. We discovered snowsuits and now only her feet get snowballs. Wish we were going to Fla. |
Thats what we do when the snow will come... take out the blow dryer! |
Poor baby. We are lucky that it only snows here once or twice each winter and only lasts for a day or so... What about using dog boots to help keep the feet dry and then sweaters/coats to keep most of the body snow free? |
I have the dog boots but she won't walk in them. I also have coats but when she wants to go potty she wants to go NOW....LOL... It is not bad now, that storm we had was heavy wet snow and that is why it was stuck to her fur. She is fine now. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get her used to the boots. When I put them on her she just stands still and won't move. These fur babies are so funny. There is not a day that goes by that she doesn't have me in stitches from laughing at her. They have such personalities, you got to love them. She is the love of my life....shhhhh. Don't want hubby to know that...LOL :):):) |
I've tried it all, and the best solution I've found is to just drop them in the tub (or sink) under some warm water. If you just pour water on the legs where it's worst, it doesn't take too long to blowdry afterward. Blowdrying just takes too long. And, you're right, the long-legged coats work, but it takes time to put them on. Also, you really need one that fits perfectly or they restrict their movement too much. |
I just put Winston in the tub with warm water...it melts quickly, he has long hair, which I personally love, so I put up with the snowballs and quick warm water dips to get rid of them. |
Well, I got tired of dealing with the snow, so we just up and moved from Wisconsin to central Texas! Took care of that problem and Tink is quite happy to romp all year long with no snow balls on her tummy. ;) |
