what is the latest a yorkies hair can change color? Bentley will be 2 in May 2012. Up until just recently his hair was black. Then it got a slight silver tint to it but still black. In the last few months (had him shaved down recently and am growing again) its gotten a salt and pepper look to it. There's clearly silver in it and on his back legs it almost all silver. Is this normal? He looks a little odd being a few colors like that. Especially since he's been all black for over a year! Also, at a year or so, his hair began to get more silky. I thought he was a modified coat but now he clearly has silky hair. I just thought it strange that he is still changing. The top of his head seems blonde, not tan too. Still looks just like his dad though. I thought he was done with his coat changing at a year at the most. How long do they change? |
They say they are done at 2 or 3 but My Jewels coat changed again at 4 to lots of blonde on her sandle then back to blue after that so who knows. |
Ziva (3 in May) changed so much between 18 months and 2 years! She had a very silver head that turned blonde and then a rich gold in just a few months. I grow her hair out for our cooler weather and it has turned so silky and curly and almost frosted with silver. She has also gotten quite stocky/ broad in the last 6 months.(same weight) |
Sophie's coat color changed up until she was two. Black with tan markings, then black and silver, but the silver has turned mostly entirely light tan now that she is three. Her saddle is black. I think she might still change slightly but not much. It probably varies from pup to pup. |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 358344 my two havn't changed colour for about a year olly is 2 and Tia is 3 |
Mia who is 5 hasn't changed at all - she's dark. Max who is 4 has changed several times and the last being recently. Moe who is 2 has gotten darker on his head - reddish brown. I'd venture to say that they "can" (doesn't mean they will) change hair color up until they're 3-4 yrs of age. |
