Beware of emails I just recieved a email message a little while ago asking for $1,500 for Sarah Henery who is yorkie talks (walnuthill) of yorkie splash & shine shamoos the story went that she is in the UK and has been mugged & robbed and needs money to return home..I know Sarah from YT only and have recently bought products from her...I know she would never contact me for help so anyone else here that has bought from her may be contacted and i am sure it is a scam I sent a copy of the email to Sarah but haven't heard back from her |
I seen this before it's a scam for sure! thanks for the warning. |
thanks for the warning!!! I have seen this scam before ... "they" must have hacked into her email and because you have purchased from her they have your email. Did you let her know? |

I forward the email to her.. don't you wish people would get a job and stop this nonsense ? i do :) |
Unfortunately this is the time of the year for a rise in these type of things. Im glad you alerted her it is going on |
I got the same email from Sarah. I hadn't sent it to her so thanks for doing that. Total scam. |
I got the same e-mail and even got IM when I was on line from supposedly my sister inlaw. I knew it was bogus. Because she was not well enough to go to church , never mind travel to UK. |
thanks for the warning |
The same thing happened to me. They got my password to my e-mail (which I gave to them unknowingly - see below) and sent a message to a bunch of people that I was over in the UK and had gotten hit over the head with a club  and all my money was stolen, and to please send money so I could get home. They also wiped out all my e-mails that I currently had, and everyone in my address book. I was so embarrassed because I didn't know who all it went to. I wouldn't have known what was happening if my brother hadn't gotten one of the e-mails and notified me. I called my e-mail provider and they straightened everything out. I ended up having to change my password. I remembered then that I had given out my password (which I know NOT to do) to someone saying they were with my e-mail provider and needed to know my password to upgrade my account, and I FELL for it! I still can't believe I did that. So the moral of the story is - Don't give out your password to anyone!!! |
Working as an IT security specialist for years makes me want to also warn all of you who have given any type of payment information to this person that you keep an eye on your credit cards and PayPal information. A computer hacked is a life hacked. If she had passwords stored anywhere for her items, those are compromised as well. Be safe, it's the season for this stuff to be 10 fold. |

A similar thing happened to my grandmother about a month ago. She got a phone call from someone saying they were her grandson and were in jail in Canada. She asked which grandson and he said "The handsome one". He said he needed $2,500 to get out of jail. She believed him but said she wanted to take the phone upstairs to grandpa. Fortunately, the guy hung up at that point. My grandfather had to explain to her that it was a scam and she didn't believe him until he googled it and showed her. It's pretty scary and doesn't take much to get scammed... |
Pay Pal is a bit safer than most but as a general rule, I change passwords on that even though the person I'm paying doesn't get my password in their system. However, that being said, if you had to create an account with her on her website and you used the same password on her site that you have anywhere else (email, YT login, etc) then you should change it. General rule of thumb is to never ever use the same password for your banking or financial sites that you use anywhere else and your email password should be unique as well. Forums and junk sites you are on you can create generic password because it really doesn't matter to hackers to gain access to the site. If they find your password for a junk site like forums or game sites then they will try to access your email account with the same password. Once again, passwords should be unique on your email, banks and financial stuff. Your email password should be super duper secure. Keep in mind, once someone hacks your email they can just look through your emails, request new passwords from any site they see in your mailbox and take over your life. Be safe! :) |
Thanks for the warning, although I have emailed Sarah before I did not become part of this attack, but I did look through my spam folder again & was able to see another email from 'Paypal'. I got an email from 'them' asking to confirm my info or something a while back & just deleted it being freaked out. After contacting the real Paypal they want you to forward any suspicious emails to them so they can check them out. Now I was able to and hopefully they'll catch them before someone does fall for it-they are very convincing. |
