Tags on collar question This is a question for every one who has collars on there babies (just for tag purposes not for use with a leash) do you have there rabies tag on there collar with a name tag? I love the noise that Callie's name tag and rabies tag make because it is enough to know where she or if she is moving yet not as annoying to me as a bell but the rabies tag color wears off, its big, its ugly, and the corners of the bell seem sharp. So what do you do with your rabies tag is the question? I was thinking of getting one of the fur codes tags and putting that on with her name tag and just carrying the rabies tag with me when we go out. |
Pistol wears his rabies tag on his collar with his name tag. Yes they are big and ugly, but here in Pa. the law requires them to be on the dog. I don't like them either and have made little sacks that go over the tag and tie at the top. It covers the ugly tag, but you don't have the noise to let you know where your fur baby is. |
Ziva and Abby wear a lightweight aluminum ID tag and a bell on their collar- they wear the rabies tag on their harness for when they are out in public. I have had Ziva run out the front door for her not to have a collar on at all times (we have 5 people in our busy house) |
Kiko only wears an id tag on her collar. I keep her rabies tag hooked to the bag holder that I hang on her leash. |
I keep Teddy's ID tag on his collar along with his microchip tag. His furcode and rabies tag are on his harness. |
Lilly wears her rabies tag and an ID tag on her collar. |
All of mine have their tags on their collars. Rabies, Id, Microchip. I just feel safer having them their. |
Chewie wears an ID tag with his name and my cell phone number all the time. Rabies tag, microchip tag, and city license are clipped onto his leash whenever we go out. |
Dori wears a harness with one ID tag which says "REWARD" Plus a phone #. No name or other info. We keep her license and rabies tag in her file. She is microchiped for added security. |

It never occurred to me that Cody's rabies tag might need to be on him when he goes out. I guess I better check on the rules around here! |
I don't keep rabies tags on the dogs' collars. They have an ID tag with an 800 number and my contact info. The 800 number has my veterinarian's information. I keep the rabies tags on their harnesses for walks. |
I think this tag problems is a hard thing to be solved. For Brandy I have about five collars and her harness for out side. I have her rabies tag,ID tag,Smart tag and my number hooked on a small clip and everytime I change her harness to whatever I clip the small clip on it. The rabies tag is very sharp you can also try putting the rubbing thing for around the key in the tag but the only thing is you wont have a sound. |
mine wears her rabies tag, an id tag with all my info and her name on it, her 'get me home tag', and fur code tag. I also love the noise it makes and it makes me feel safer knowing its there. My id tag is if someone finds her they can call right away or just bring her home, fur code is for smart phones (not everyone has those) 'get me home' is only if you have internet access. I feel I have all my bases covered and I like it that way! :D She will wear a microchip tag when she gets hers done next month too. I have them on a clip also so they can be moved easy if need be. But she wears her collar all the time and the tags too. |
