It is better to wait till he is min of 12 weeks if normal size. If smaller he needs to weight 2 pounds before going to his new home. That is a normal rule to better protect the puppy and so you don't get him home and end up running to your vet in the middle of the night. Also you have to realize it is winter and better to have them older before going home, so they stay with their mana and stay warm, no drafts. I know it is hard to wait, but if she is reputable she will hold on to him longer for you for no extra charge. P.S. I noticed his ear hair is not trimmed. It will help his ears if she does trim them while he is teething, plus I think it looks better. |

Are we allowed to post breeder names on YT to see if anyone else is familiar with them? I would like to post the name to see if anyone here knows them. |

Just wanted to add that to get a true picture of what the dog "could" look like - you'd have to be familiar with more than just the parents. Just like people - some will look like the grandparents and further back. Also, please don't forget that there can be a "runt" or a "large" one in a litter - no matter who the parents are. My Mia was 1 pound 10 oz when I got her but she fluxuates between 7-8 pounds now at almost 6 yrs old. People like to sell them young so that they "look" small but it's not always an indicator of what they'll actually weigh. My Max came from well known show lines, which were all breed standard, but he ended up weighing 12 pounds! lol! He is gorgeous and I wouldn't trade him for the world. He's my "velcro" baby. Loves his Momma! :D Either way - he's definately a cutie and I'm sure you'll love him no matter what size he is. :) |
