Gets All His Food From His Kong Since Harley has to spend a lot of his daily time in his xpen while I'm working or in class I figured I would try and keep him busy. So instead of putting his kibble in his bowl I just filled up his kong with it and off he went! It's so cute bc he'll grab it between his two paws, roll over with it so some bits fall out onto his belly and then he'll grab it in his mouth and toss it so more bits fall out! :p hehe Does anyone else do this with their baby? He seems to love it! |
I don't do this, but I've read that it's a great way for them to get their food. It satisfies their appetite and their chewing needs at the same time. It also gives them something constructive to do when you are gone. Have you seen the Kong dispensers? I think it holds 5-6 kongs, and dispenses them ever few hours. Great for when you're gone a long time. |
Hey, think I'll try that. I got Trace a kong and put the peanut butter in it, but he didn't seem too impressed. Too much work, I guess. He might would like it filled w/ kibble....course do I really need to be cleaning up more Trace crumbs? Cause he prefers to take one piece out the bowl, carry it into the den, crunch it in million bits, and head back in the kitchen for another..... |

Yes! I give Joey Kongs. I also use other food dispensers that he has to manipulate to get his dinner. I rarely just put his food in a bowl. He is so smart that I think the mental stimulation is good for him. |
