recall chicken jerkey treats It was on CNN earlier that 70 dogs have died as a result of eating chicken jerky treats made from chicken that has come from China. Kingdom Pets brand from Costco is one of them. Also certain Blue Buffalo brand pet foods have a recall for the same thing. |
This has been an ongoing problem with chicken jerky from China |
Uhoh I use blue buffalo wet and dry foods and their chicken jerky. Is it just the chicken jerky I should stop using or the chicken flavored wet and dry foods too? |

Uh oh! I think we are in the clear. I don't give Katie Scarlett any chicken jerky treats, but after reading this I will definitely keep an eye on those if we do in the future. |
Can someone please confirm Blue Buffalo foods are affected with a link? I just switched Jenna to their canned/dry turkey and salmon foods two weeks ago from Natural Balance to help her skin problems...I want to be sure this brand is clear of problems. :( |

yes OP can you please provide a link showing the Blue Buffalo recall?? I am not aware of this and I feed both of my pups Blue Buffalo brand dry dog food. I use the whitefish one for Dolce and the chicken one for Bentley(because thats the only flavor I saw for puppies...). Should I be concerned about this??? OP can you show us where it talks about this recall?? |
I did a google search for the BB recall and the last BB recall I could find was from Oct 2010 on the wilderness food for large dogs because of high levels of vitamin D in the food. I couldn't find any recalls from 2011 or anything concerning chicken from China, etc. .....??? BTW here is the link for the chicken jerky if you are interested in reading up on it. http://www.dogaware.com/recall.html#jerky |
This is why I only give Izzy True chews.. Made in The USA and product of USA.. The chicken comes from Tyson.. love them!!! |
