Awful on walk today >:( I have no idea what happened! We got the pups and were going for a walk today. we put sweaters on them because its a little chilly. (they were their sweaters all the time for walks) halfway into our walk Kimchi starts howling, crying, screaming. He starts biting miso, and acting so strange. I thought he was hurt so we sat down I checked him over. As soon as I picked him up he started scratching me, squirming, still wouldn't stand still. I took the sweater off him, I offered him food and water, nothing. We had to walk to the nearest subway ( I had to carry him) and get on where he continued this strange behavior. When I set him down again he would try and run under our feet, attack miso again, miso got so fed up he snapped back. IT WAS SO EMBARRASSING!!! When we got all the way home and I put him down he acted COMPLETELY normal. UGH!!! I shooed him over to his crate, and he turned around and BIT me and ran to his crate growling (like telling me off). Its been awhile now and he is acting like nothing happened. I honestly dont know what to say besides maybe he didn't want to go for a walk?! He really seemed all into it before =/ |
That is strange! My first step would be a vet visit to see if there was anything medically going on with him. When a dog acts strangely in a way that they've never done before, it could indicate pain or illness. Hopefully it's not anything, but it'd be good to make sure. My Luna goes after Izzy once in a while, but it's a jealousy issue that we're working on. |

I always ask is this something new ? Did this happen over time and progress to the point when you decided something had to be done ? I think a Vet check is important. Just a short example. Mrs X called me and said her little Becky was peeing out of spite. After a few questions I told her I thought she should have Becky checked by the Vet. Two days later she called to say little Becky had bladder infection. So it wasn't because she went away for the week end after all. |
I think if you're concerned a vet visit may be a good idea. Also if you see this happen again, do you have a video camera on your phone. If he does it again I'd try to capture it, sound and all so that you can play it back for the vet or your trainer. Either could tell you if this looks behavioural or medical. It can be really hard for a vet to diagnose something without seeing the symptoms. While they can do general tests you could be wasting money on testing the wrong area. Also when you said he turned around and bit you, did you touch him anywhere, or aim near a certain part of his body?? That could be an important factor, maybe something pinched him and he didn't like it, it seems odd that he stopped when you got home. I'd double check the sweater harness and everything to make sure nothing was pinching him or chaffng. |
