Need potty advice Any ideas on what to do? My 4month old female yorkie will poop on a potty pad but refuses to pee on it? WHY?!?!?!:questione |
That's odd, I am not sure why she would do that:confused: Maybe if you take a clean pad and use it to soak up one of her little puddles, then put it in the usual place, she'll get the idea. Good luck! Training these little ones can be frustrating (mine still "miss" the pad once in a while and they're over 5 years old!) but hang in there and just be consistent and patient |
Mine is just the opposite. She pees on the pad and poops by the pad on the floor. She is around the same age as yours. I read somewhere that they don't get potty trained till 5 - 6 months. So maybe there is still hope. :) |
I put my potty pad in the bath tub. Cedric wouldnt do either on the pad. So everyday I put him in there first thing when we woke up, after eating or drinking and watched him like a hawk and that finally worked. He now uses his potty pads and does a good job at almost 8 months. |
They don't like to poo in the same place they pee. Your potty pad may not be large enough for the pee to leave a large enough non-peed on area for the dog to do poo without touching the pee. Soon after we got ours, we started using the extra large size pad in a holder for her and she does fine. But when the pad is full of pee, we have to change it or she won't poo on it, she'll go elsewhere. The pad holder helps her differentiate the edges of the pad from the floor. She used to go off the pad quite a bit before we got that. |
