Discouraged :( As most of you know we lost Lolita our little rescue baby a few months ago. Since then our little Laddy has been so lonely as have we. My problem is we have searched and searched for a reputable breeder in Missouri and every time I think I have found one I find negative feedback on here :(. I know Deb sells reputable babies but we are on a fixed income and really can't afford a show quality baby. We don't want to consider rescue again because we fell so in love with our little girl and only got to have her with us for 2 years so we really want to get a puppy. Can any please help me with the name or names of good local breeders? We carry pet insurance on our babies to insure they are well taken care of health wise but we have to consider a budget when we purchase one. I don't want to ship because I really would like to go see where our baby is born etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide |
I am sorry that I am of no help, but would like to wish you good luck in your search. |
Bumping this up.... I'm too far away to be of help. But good luck in your search it's good to see you're searching high and low for a reputable breeder. |
Good luck in your search |
I wanted to wish you luck in your search also! |
Good luck with your search. I say, if you have found someone you like then bite the bullet and spend a little extra. Maybe you could work out a payment plan or something on a puppy who isn't here yet or is not ready to go? |
I got my Cali from a great lady in Kansas city mo. PM me if you would like more info . |

If you're on a budget as many of us are, you might want to browse Craigslist like we did. It took me many months to find Bailey and while there are no guarantees in life, we're going to enjoy him as long as we can. |

Good luck in your search. I hope you find your perfect new companion soon. |
www.petfinder.com often lists dogs from rescues, see if there is a dog there in your area. |
I completely understand being discouraged in search of a new yorkie to add to your family. It took me almost a year for my girls and I to come together. Early on in my search, I spoke with a breeder who wanted more for her puppies than I had allotted myself to spend. I contacted her again (by accident ;)) almost eight months later... turns out, unforeseen circumstances arose that resulted in her need to rehome her older dogs. That's how Bella and Tillie became part of our family. Follow your instincts, be honest with breeders about how much you are willing to spend, ask them if they have older dogs or know of other breeders you might be able to call, etc. (I wouldn't have known about her need to rehome if I hadn't asked). And I know it's hard, but try to be patient... when we feel rushed, like we NEED another pet, we are more likely to let our guard down and not follow our instincts. All that said, I wish you the best of luck in finding another furbaby to join your family :) |
Thank you all so much for your warm wishes. We are still searching. I am not going to rush things I just had a bad experience when we went to pick up our first little guy and to our horror discovered it was a puppy mill that I dont want to risk that again. He is a complete joy and I would never give him up but I really would like a reputable breeder this time. It seems that Missouri is a hard state to find those in and I really dont want to ship not just do to expense but also because I want to be able to visit where it is born and see the parents. Thanks again everyone. |
