I Have Been A Bad Mom I think I have failed as a Yorkie Mom at the moment. With all that Lizzie is going thru and having to take her daily to the Vet for fluids and make sure she eat's. I must have slipped somehow in giving my Allie the attention she needs. Today, I noticed that she drank a whole bowl of water and always wanting outside to potty. I was in the kitchen boiling up chicken and Allie came in there and was looking at me and usually this means she wants outside, I told her just a minute. She proceeded to walk over to the dining area and just did a PeePee, it really shocked me. I looked and her and calmly said no, you potty outside. She just stood there with such a look on face. I took her outside and went potty 3 more time. I called the Vet and ran her up there. They kept her for the afternoon so they could get a urine sample to see if she was coming down with a UTI. They called around 3:30 said I could get her at 4:00. Dr. Reed said she was perfectly fine no UTI, no high blood sugar. She did however ask me if there was much stress going at home? Well, yes there is. With Lizzie being sick. Allie must is picking up on the stress and is acting out. My poor baby, I feel so bad. I thought I was doing such a good job of trying not to let it show and always showing Allie and Willow attention and stay so focused on Lizzie. I guess I have failed. Has anyone ever had this happen? I just feel so bad. |
it happens/you have alot going on//you are not a bad mom |
Don't feel bad. You are not a bad Mom. You have alot going on with Lizzie and it's probably on your mind all the time. Don't beat yourself up. It's such a hard thing to deal with when one of our babies are sick. Give all your pups and hug from me and sending a hug to you too! |
Sounds like you are juggling a lot of balls. Don't beat yourself up. Also sounds like you haven't really dropped any of them - look how quickly you rushed her to the vet a the first sign you had of something wrong! Be kind to yourself and give your pups a kiss. |
The fact that you took her to the vet right away speaks volumes. You are definately a great furbaby mom! |
You are a wonderful Momma! Don't beat yourself up! |

Your a great yorkie momma to your little ones! :ghug: |
Don't feel bad your an excellent mom!!! |
You haven't been a bad mom. Things just happen and doggies can pick up on anything you are feeling no matter how you try to hide it. I will keep you and your babies in my prayers. |
You are a GREAT yorkie mom!! You have alot on your hands right now... Bevo acted very strangely too when Mack was so sick recently. He almost wanted nothing to do with me. Although I tried to give him as much attention as possibly, I was clearly catering to Mack and his needs... Now he is 100% back to normal...hang in there!!! |
I feel like I have gotten to know the people on here pretty wel,l by what they post. We are all hugging you Vicki. You are a wonderful Yorkie Mom. I think Allie is just upset or maybe a little afraid. Something is wrong with Lizzie and she senses it. She can smell and feel your stress too. It will be ok. My YBs (Yorkie-Babies) have had a hard 6 weeks while my knee is healing and Hubby has been out of state for 2 months now. They miss him and our normal routine, especialy our daily 2 mile walks. They have acted up being fussy and clingy. Abba even marked in the house a few times. I have tried to do the best I can, and give the rest to God. Life is too short, to spend time beating myself up. It is ok Vicki, We all think you are doing great job of taking care of your family. Let it go. You would (and have been) super supportive when we needed a friend on here. So try to give yourself a break, just like you would us. <3 Treese |
I'm new here, but just from what you've said, I can tell you are a wonderful mom to your babies! I know what U mean by having so much going on. It's been hard on my ole gal Penny ( mini doxie, 11 years ) as my husband has been out of work the last month on short term with illness. I'm disabled with degenerative disc disease, Fibromyalgia and crippling RA. His STD checks haven't started yet, my small monthly check doesn't cover our bills and I rescue a 1 year old yorkie to boot! Had lots o trouble last week at the vets with him and was a horrible week! We all have troubles and out babies sure pick up on them. Even if you try to act normal, they sense you are trying to act normal and know the gig is up anyway! She's most likely just feelin a little insecure with what she's sensing. You are great to get her to the vet, and I mean the 1 st time she did it too! WOW, UR A GREAT MOMMY! Give yourself a pat on the back, not a slap! They are gonna luv U no matter what is going on. Take a moment each day to just sit with your babies and pet and love em and let em love you back. Relax even if it's just for 5 mins! U R AWESOME! :) |
