LOL I know what you mean. sweet potatoes sounds like a good idea. I don't care much for them myself, but Im sure the pups would love a taste of that!:thumbup:

Ugh reading this stresses me out. I don't give my dog any human food other than fruits and veggies every now and then, but my mom gives her EVERYTHING she eats. I've had numerous talks with her about it but she just doesn't get it. She thinks it's cruel to deny her food :rolleyes: I'll read up on it. She seems fine, but I'm so afraid she will have health issues due to it. Needless to say I need to move out ASAP!

Yorkietalk has so many threads on this, and we always have a few dogs after Thanksgiving that get acute pancreatitis. Your mom is doing a great disservice to your dog, and maybe if you tell her it takes a minimum of $1000.00 to treat, then they have to be put on a highly restricted diet possibly for the rest of their lives. Really a dog doesn’t really understand the difference between pumpkin pie and a bit of canned pumpkin, they don’t have taste buds like humans, and their taste comes from their noses, so you can “spoil” you dogs and keep them healthy as well.

I didn't know this. I had to wake Uni up and look in her mouth. That's right, no taste buds, well at least they don't look like mine.

LOL, your taste buds should be studied by science, not many people have such refined taste buds, ie you can tell the difference between McDonnell’s package ketchup and other fast foods ketchups.

Tibbe will get his turkey and green beans as usual. Thanksgiving has turned into one of Tibbe's favorite days and I can't imagine what it is about the day that he loves so much.

I've found with Tibbe, the louder the smell, the more he like it. He swallows food whole almost so he couldn't actually taste much of anything from the very brief time it is on his tongue.

I will give mine a little boiled chicken and sweet potatoes mixed in his kibble.
