1st trip Greetings. Been gone since last Friday. We flew to Orlando, FL for a family wedding (and found time to visit Hogwarts at Universal). We didn't know what to do with Bailey since this was our 1st time away. Didn't want to board him, couldn't find a house sitter so we were leaning towards boarding at the vet. My embroiderer (who sews our client's logos on shirts, hats etc,) told me that she takes her dog to this pet sitter not too far away. So we called and interviewed her and found that she only keeps about 4 dogs at a time, and they can weigh no more that 30 pounds. We left Bailey there Friday morning about 7am, and headed to the airport. That night at dinner, the pet sitter, Kathy, called to let us know Bailey was doing great and getting along nicely with the other 3 dogs. He made one "mistake" the 1st day and never messed in the house again. He ate all his food and was such a good boy. The only thing he did was jump the kids gate to the kitchen. He can really jump!!! We got him this afternoon about 2:30. He looked great (needs a bath!), and was ready to go home (as were we). We are sooooooo lucky to find her and have already booked her for a short weekend trip coming up. |
I am glad that you had a great trip and your yorkie had a great time too!! I usually travel with my yorkie. It is hard to find a sitter you feel comfortable. When I traveled to Florida for those parks, I have used the kennel at the park. We actually came outside to check on her a couple times. She did really good there. I travel a lot and she comes with me. Only time I had to leave her behind was when I had to go to Japan. It is always difficult to find the person you can trust. I am glad that you have found someone you feel comfortable. I am a bit insane that I flew to Chicago to have Patti (on YT) to watch my girl during my emergency trip to Japan. |
