Aggression in Yorkies? My Yorkie, Chloe is 2 yrs old, she's been getting more aggressive lately. I've made an appointment with a trainer next week to help me be the "pack leader", anyone else had this problem? She's aggressive with toys, when I leave the room and sometimes with our other dog, a mini schnauzer. She also barks at shadows...drives us crazy! |
YES! Post what you learn from the trainer Please! |
Agression in Yorkies? I most certainly will be glad to post what I find out, my appointment is on Wednesday. i also ordered a book that came highly recommended by the dog whisperer, Ceasar Millian...Being the pack leader, I'm hoping to gain some insight from that too, since not sure how many trainer appointments I can afford.:aimeeyork |
Tell me how she is being aggressive? Does she bite? How is she around people and other dogs? Mine act aggressive with their toys but they are just playing. |
Chloe has always been agressive with toys...tears them up in a matter of seconds, especially if they have eyes... she's always been extremely anxious and in fact the doc put her on a low dose of Prozac which has helped her relax some. She is agressive when you try to get something from her that she should not have, or even try to get her to drop a toy, agressive with our other dog, barking and chasing after anyone who trys to leave the room, sometimes nipping at the pant leg...We do not play any games that encourage more agression, like tug-a-war, it just gets her more wound up. She's very sweet, but the agressiveness is just scary, afraid someone is going to get bit. |
trying to get a picture posted here on my profile of Chloe....not having much luck. I thought I had it...maybe it will show up in this post :( So frustrated! Been on the help site and still can't seem to get it right |
