Mollys hair Someone help me out here. When I got Molly I was told the reason her hair is so thin and she has none on her ears is something called blow out from being overbred but I have tried to look for what to do for this on the internet with no help at all. Has anyone ever heard of this before? What can I do to help her get her hair back? She is on vitamins and the best food I can feed her but if there is something else I can do I want to do it. |
I also looked for any hint as to why her coat is thin but I really didn't find anything. If she was my baby I would make sure she is otherwise healthy and then love her to the max regardless of her coat. She's beautiful. |
Aww...Molly is just beautiful! I think she looks like a lot of the yorkie coats and she does look silky to me. She is adorable...love her sweet face:thumbup: |
Funny you say she looks silky to you because my Sadie is silky and I think her and Molly look a lot alike |
My initial thought was hormonal changes... when I googled "dog hair loss after litter", I did find results saying it is normal for dogs to "blow coat" due to the hormonal changes and stress from nursing pups... some recommended a higher protein diet for a short time (fish oil, eggs, etc.). This is not from personal experience, just what I found on the internet. You may get more feedback by posting this in the breeders section. |
I didn't see a pic of her ears but, I do know from past experience with one of my fosters who arrived with little hair on her ears that it was due to "flys". Her ears were almost leathery in areas and it was due to unsanitary living conditions where flys would bite at her ears...very sad!:( |
