I did not know about good breeders and the extent of puppy mills and brokers when I got Callie and I got her from a broker who got his dogs from puppy mills. Although I could not imagine my life without Callie and would not want to be without her we have had many health problems cause by the fact there was no genetic testing and such. So please please please if your getting another dog do your research very well. |
We got Troy from a Breeder in Toccoa, GA (Avalon Rock). This breeder passed away early last year. |
Dont over look doing a rescue, or adopting from some where like petfinder. ;) |
Bailey came from Craigslist. There were no papers, but frankly whether he's all Yorkie or mix isn't important. We think he is, but it's ok either way. The family was leaving the country and needed to sell him. I was the 1st caller. Good thing because there were about a dozen callers behind me. |
Oliver is a rescue.. I found him on Petfinder. He was at a puppy mill in Missouri and ended up in a foster home in Wilmington NC.... he is my angel on earth!!! |
I got Jimmy from a pretty decent local breeder. They are called Pemberly Yorkies. Jimmy is actually still up on the site in the puppies section. He was named "Gucci" but he didn't cost as much as they have up on the site either. Pemberly Yorkies . I'm so glad I found him. |
I got Sophie from a breeder in Ohio. I have no complaints. She was very helpful and still likes to keep informed on my little girl. She even offers overnights when you go on vacation. She was AKC registered. Her website is www.hdyorkies.com and she also has a facebook page. Check her out. |
Got Scooter from a byb, did not know any better at the time. Got Sadie from a puppy mill but she was young so she adapted well but again I did not know it was a puppy mill at the time. Thor and Little Bit are from Sadie's litter, that was not planned and will never happen again because all are fixed and now we have Molly who we are fostering, She is a puppy mill dog. There are so many wonderful yorkies in shelters and rescues all over the world and my advice is to save one of them, they will save you back in return. |

I got Delilah from a breeder in Alabama that my vet recommended. I loved how I got to see her parents and brothers/sisters. He isn't a breeder anymore though. :( |
I got Baby Bear from an add in the newspaper. Lucky me, he turned out to be perfect:). Two years later, I tried to addopt a baby girl, from a breader I found online, did not turn out so good. She had multiple health issues withing the first 48 hours, had to return her:((( Please be careful |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-end-year.html I think you need to focus on becoming and independent adult not having your mom determine if you can get a new puppy dependent on you getting rid of the dog your currently have... I noticed you are now currently employed, you should focus on that and perhaps realize that doggy day care for two is twice as expensive, not to mention it\'s a lot harder to move out on your own on a budget and find a place that will accept not one but two dogs... Sorry I think the OP and this thread needed a reality check, I know I\'m the downer here but someone had to be. |
