Is this good? :) Hi all! Attached i have 2 pics of the playpen I am going to be using for my baby who comes home in 19 days!! :) Anyways the first pic is the outside of it! I got it at a flea market in VA for only $40! The other shot is inside it and my setup! I have yet to purchase all of my main things for Emmie but the brown carpet is serving as a pee-pad just as a option if she ever needs to go in there while home alone, the brown bed and blankie are on the left ( hope to be getting a cuter bed ), and on the left is where her food and water dishes will go, and some of her toys as you can see. I am debating on weather I should attach her crate to the back ( where another door is ), for her bed so she can have more room to play but I am not sure. What do yall think? Do you think this is a good setup for my baby girl, I want everything to be perfect. Should I switch anything around? All opinions welcome! Thankyou all and I hope to get a bunch of feedback! :) |
2 Attachment(s) Sorry forgot attachments :) |
THat is a nice set-up. BUT I would reconsider using the carpet patch in it, as it could possibly confuse her when she is out and about. Thinking it's ok to use the carpet when in her pen, but when oput she get's in trouble. Get some potty pads. |

About the brown carpet I meant to say like I am just using that as an example of where it would go since I havent yet been shopping for pee-pads LOL! |
Very nice! I had the same playpen for Stormy when she was a puppy, but my brother would unzip the sides when he took her out and left them open...yeah, once she got bigger she totally chewed the zippers! She completely destroyed the zippers and I couldn't close it any more so just make sure to keep it zipped up, lol. |
That's a cute playpen. lol I was going to say that the carpet looks softer to sleep on. I think it would be a better idea to connect the crate on the outside like you mentioned. They like to run around. And my Ahi also LOVES zippers. She has ruined countless backpacks because my kids keep leaving it on the ground and unzipped. lol Just 19 more days! Woohoo! ;) |
I have that same playpen, the door has velcro on it, so I can unzip it and roll it up so he can go in and out when we are home. |
I know only 19!! And I will make sure to keep those zippers secure ;) And I think I will connect her crate! |
Congratulations on your upcoming arrival of a new baby! You are going to fall in love. I have that exact same playpen for my new baby Lexi & it has been a God send. I hope you find it as helpful as I have. I think it is a perfect setup with pee pad & puppy crate attached too. I hope you have a foolproof method of attaching the crate to the playpen as these little ones are Houdini's. :D I would hate to see the puppy get caught & stuck in between where it may be attached. |

Several of us use that same pen and we love ours. I use it mostly in hotel rooms. I agree with what some of the others have said about the brown carpet. Our Cali was pee pad trained and was always "spot-on" until I tried the washable pad -- then everything got confused. She started peeing on all the rugs and could not seem to tell the difference between the washable pad and the carpets. So I went back to the disposable pee pads and all was well. She just had trouble with that transition. May not be the same for your pup, however. I buy my pee-pads at Sam's Club -- they are human grade and sized and are more reasonable and larger than the pet store kind. How exciting to have a new furball coming to your life!!! |
I have the same one too. If your little one is an escaped artist like mine, never put her in through the side panels, always put her in through the top. My little one would try to escape through the same way you put her in. As a result I no longer use it anymore because she just started pushing up against the zippered panel and let herself out. These little stinkers are smart. Brandi pretty much has escaped every crate playpen I got her. Now I have locked the zippers in order to keep her from escaping. They are great for when ever I have a house full of people and I don't want to constantly watch Brandi. For the most part she has run of the house though. |
